I get what your saying. I feel as though when I talk about the idea I had awhile back, it just gets drowned and tuned out by other posts. 343 has mentioned that they do listen to the ideas of the forum, but I believe that 343 will only take notice in an idea if it is a truly brilliant and creative idea that could be implemented into the game. My idea awhile back was for the capability to toggle in and out of third and first person view freely while driving or riding in any and all of the vehicles by pressing down on the same button that is used for scoping with the sniper rifle and HUD. You know, so that people could drive the warthog in first person if feeling like it, but if they wanted a better feel for their surroundings then they could just toggle back to third person on any given notice. It would be just as simple toggling the crouch button. After I posted the idea, sure it lasted for a few moments and people made a few comments, but I got off feeling like it wouldn’t be looked over at all. Still, I’m sure 343 is taking every precaution possible to secure everyone’s overall happiness with the final product.
well, from what i know about 343. is that they are wildly known to hear out to their fans. i think they keep track on what the fans want and decide if it would be good to be entered their ideas into the game and such

I would think they are always up for suggestions, its just that many people have some ridiculous ones, or ones that aren’t very Halo-y.
With the TU playlists, they are really trying to get feedback on what people think of it, and are trying to calm peoples concerns to the best of their ability.
I would say that 343 is probably past the point of considering suggestions (hopefully), if they ever did, and that all of the ‘great ideas for H4’ threads are probably in vein.

the least they could do is make a post saying NO MORE IDEA THREADS, WE ARENT ACCEPTING ANY
I mean some people really throw their soul out there when they dont even know if it even matters anymore.

They try to avoid taking specific suggestions from people. Some people could do all kinds of crazy stuff like sue 343i for taking their idea without giving them credit for it. Of course that person would end up losing the case, but it’s better for them and 343i to not even have a chance of getting into that kind of thing.
Only types of ideas I could, in any way, see them even considering are ideas that could have no negative impact to gameplay or anything else and are widely popular in the community. But I’m not very sure about that either.
What comes to the TU, feedback to existing features when asked and completely new features are two different things. While there definitely is nothing stopping them from taking community generated ideas, I believe they are trying to avoid that to best of their ability. In the end, it’s just better for everyone that way.
I think that from the fact that they added the Title Update to Reach we can presume they listen to the community’s feedback and take it to heart.
However, about suggestions to add to the game…
If you listen to this month’s podcast, they talk about how all of the game’s content is pretty much programmed.
For the next few months they are working on polishing and bug fixing it all.
So the likelihood of them adding something to the game is very slim to none.
However, I think they will definitely listen to the feedback we give about the game, and that may impact their design for future games.
Most of the time, most ideas will not even be looked at, but things like “No AAs” or “We want Master Chief” those kind of ideas they’ll look at, and all ideas they look at that are done by the community they treat them as grains of salt. Yes ideas are good, but if a Developer looks at all of the ideas that the community comes up with, you’ll end up with a big pile of crap.
Also, you got to remember, all of the major things like the main things in campaign, weapons, and vehicles are mostly done and in place. Right now it’s more of finishing touches, and fine tuning. Also, Major things involving the Engine are for the most part set in stone for Halo 4. Tho idea threads are mostly pointless for Halo 4, there is hope for Halo 5, because they can research some of the really good ideas for Halo 5, and the ones that fir their plans, and isn’t really stupid, like some of the ideas I’ve seen.

Agreed, this goes with what I said above, right now, it’s really late for most ideas for Halo 4, once a Game is announced, most of the time, it’s on the final leg of it’s development, and getting ready for going gold.
