Will you play the game with the new additions? Why or why not.
I personally loath the idea of someone having an advantage simply by playing more. I prefer classic Halo and have no desire to use loadouts after Reach.

yeah. its new. if people said “aahh, electricity. Its new and silly. I prefer using sunlight and candles.” we wouldn’t be where we are now would we?

Yet another person mistaking change for evolution. I’ll probably be playing 90%+ classic if it’s truly a classic playlist, we can only hope.
I think customizable weapons are more of weapon preferences - They said the AR does a good deal more damage “Close to medium range” - the br is pretty much medium range and the dmr is long range. But out of their set ranges they might not do well, it just depends which you get good with and which type of fighting you do.

yet everyone is criticizing 343 for using new advances in tech to make Halo 4 look better and play differently.
and electricity is tech.

That doesn’t change the fact that you can unlock weapons and in-game advantages on top of spawning with all sorts of different abilities.

ok…don’t know how that relates to a classic playlist.

See, you still don’t get it. Evolution is fine, but changing the genre of the game is going a bit too far. Halo WAS a balanced, skill based game where everyone started on equal footing. One of the best arena shooters of all time, now it’s just becoming another flashy class based shooter.
I’ll be roflstomping on noobs with my BR lol.

Do you like AR+Pistol starts in Halo3 and Reach or SMG+Pistol starts in Halo2?

Well i haven’t played them yet to see if i like them. But i do like the idea of it. Keep in mind that matchmaking tries to match you up at comparable levels. So you still have some semblance of balance. There should be some reward for loyalty to the franchise and dedication to the game. I should have some advantage over you after you go play COD for a month.

Get ready for plasma pistol + DMR / BR starts in halo 4

electricity was an advance in technology, like the new tech they are using to make and enhance Halo 4.
Your argument lies entirely in the multiplayer and playlist aspects of the game. The genre is FPS, there is no genre called “arena fps”. And Halo is still balanced. You really think they are going to screw everything up? After everything that’s been said and done to cater the game to every faction of Halo fan? There will still be a classic playlist for those of you who can’t tolerate anything though, so you can maintain your “superior skill” in that playlist.

I hope the Plasma Pistol is not as tracking as in Reach but more as in Halo 3.
Else this combo is OP IMHO.

Honestly, most likely. If it’s the combo you like and eventually pick up anways, and only break that combo to pick up a powerweapon, why not just start with that combo in the first place?
During an actual match, with dead players loosing gained weapons and live players keeping or gaining their weapons, the only “balanced” encounters occur at the start of the match. Past that, there’s rarely a truly balanced encounter.
If there is a classic playlist in Halo 4 I wouldn’t play it. Why? Because it’s pre-determined to be a failure. If the game’s so drastically different that it needs a ‘classic’ playlist to remind us we’re playing Halo and not some other sci-fi military first person shooter then do you seriously think that playlist would actually be any good? If such a playlist existed it’d just be a bone being thrown to ‘veteran’ players to say, “your purchase is justified! Now let me continue raping the franchise whilst you live in la la land.” I see two possibilities:
The playlist has settings that resemble Halos of yore, but is played on Halo 4’s map pool. Which I need not remind you were designed for Halo 4’s gameplay, not traditional Halo. How would that play out? It’d be just as much fun as playing on Swordbase with Reach’s classic settings–which is no fun at all! The map’s not even good in Vanilla Reach, but I digress.
Settings that resemble old Halos, but are played on forged re-makes. If other players are like me then they’d know the only thing forge re-makes achieve is making me wish I was playing on the original and that I could slap the authors for -Yoinking!- up the re-makes, because they always do!
Who even gets to deem what “classic” is? Are the settings going to be like CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, or some kind of Frankenstein combo? If the CEA gametypes for Reach are any indication then 343 don’t know what the hell classic is. Furthermore, I’m not going to support 343 just to get shovelled into a corner whilst their intentions are clear as daylight: change Halo into something I have no interest in. I don’t buy bones. I buy steaks.

The custom weapons does not bother me as much as custom abilities.

BR/AR in halo 3 was best in my oppinion.
I’ll probably play all the playlists. Really people, is it so hard to NOT restrict yourself to one playlist?
