If the rookie didn't die in new blood?

Ok so we all know The Rookie. A guy whose actions speak louder than words. Strong and Silent type. We all know that he had a very gruesome fate. If he didn’t get his brains blown out by a guy that has a pistol, what would happen? I, personally, think he should still be an ODST but with Spartan-like abilities and the leader of Osiris, and not Locke. Please tell me what yall think!

If I remember right, when talking to Buck, Jun commented about this, saying that the Rookie would have been offered to become a Spartan like the rest of his team.

I think he’d even have been ahead of Mickey and Romeo in the queue as didn’t have the same personality concerns. Part of me is surprised he wasn’t offered at the same time as Buck for the first class

How would he become the leader of Spartan Fireteam Osiris if he wasn’t a Spartan? If he remained as an ODST, he’d be on an ODST squad.

Actually. Scratch what I said. He’d be a Spartan AND the leader of Osiris.

Rookie never demonstrated any leadership abilities whatsoever. Good soldier, sure, but a better leader than Buck? Not a chance. Had the rookie not died, however, Osiris as we know it wouldn’t have existed because Buck would have likely kept the band together and remained leader or at the very least been assigned as leader of another team himself. Locke even makes a point of this.

Locke is actually a very good leader though.
