If The Pit get's a remake

If the map The Pit came into Halo4s engine, do you think it would work well with it’s gameplay style ? if you get what i mean because i miss that map.

Jetpack would screw it up. Allow access to attic, make jumps too easy, the tower becomes less of a control point. It would still work and id love it but it definitely wouldnt play the same, sadly.
Also a big part of that map was weapons/power ups on the map, which 343 also “changed” aka screwed up.

Probably…but indeed the Jet Pack will screw it up.

Well, people have remade it in forge countless times.

Give things like: Sprint, Low Jump Height, Personal Ordinance, Active Camo AA, AA in general, DMR and various other things, the map would not play well.

DMR is a massive culprit to this. For anyone who played MLG V7 on Reach, The Pit was brought back for CTF.

Needless to say, it did not play the same. I’ve attributed this to the DMR and Jump height in most cases.

The DMR makes the Snipe Tower a worthless spot because it’s far easier to shoot them up there with it. You can simply point and shoot, you will hit them and scope the sniper out. Because the DMR was single shot, it also did a ton of damage despite only hitting them once, and it became near suicide to go up onto the tower.

I personally sniped down hallways and kept people from getting to my base as opposed to being an offensive sniper, which is strange for me because I’m almost always on offence.

The same logic applies to Halo 4.

well that’s true but they could always make playlist gametype changes like in rumble pit

Unfortunately not, no CE-3 remakes play well on Halo 4.
Some play better than others, but they still don’t play well.

I have already played on a remake. In first place, the appearance that forge pieces makes it feel off.

Also, to add on to my last post, “The Pit” was supposed to be in testing for the Throwdown playlist (I think. It is possible it was meant for IS, but I can’t be sure.), but didn’t make it in because 343i thought it was “Too Small.”

My guess is sprint was the main culprit, which makes sense as it would allow for one to cross the map far quicker than before.

Remakes in general never play or feel the same in games that come afterwards. This is due to all of the new stuff that comes into play (such as what has been described above).

We’re better off either getting new maps or re-imagined versions of older maps that play well with Halo 4 settings.

I feel Halo 3’s version of The Pit is big enough to accommodate sprint and no-sprint gametypes.

I wouldn’t say the DMR would be a huge issue either. If it does become one, some of the sightlines can be shrunk or closed off.

The issue will be if everyone is like “Oh we have to scale it up like crazy because of sprint” when it’s already a fairly large map to begin with.

This is a Halo 3 arena map that I think would be a decent addition to Halo 4. Still and all I’d rather some new stuff instead of shoe-horning the oldies into the current game. Sometimes the classics are best left in the past. But then again I’m probably the only person on this forum who isn’t interested in H2A unless it greatly extends Halo 4’s multiplayer package.

Due to sprint, distances and heights should be about 10% longer (more or less). I really relly loved that map, it’s my favourite of all Halo’s

It would not work with jetpack as people mentioned. I doubt it would work at all to be honest thanks to DMR. It seems maybe big enough to handle sprint but it wouldn’t be the same

No remakes would work well with Halo 4 because of Sprint, AA’s and mini sniper rifles (DMR)

The Pit didn’t play well in Halo 3, either.

Pit could work in throwdown. But with AA’s like jet pack and the way global ordinance work it wouldn’t work very well in Inf Slayer or CTF.
