If the majority of the Halo community wants a separate ranking system for each game such as the Halo 2 ranking system for Halo 2 than why don’t they just give it to us. I am sure it’s not hard to do, especially in reference to making a brand new one. It’s not like they are making a brand new game, they are remastering it. I just don’t understand not making the community happy on such a simple thing.

The whole point of the Collection is to have everything on one, seamless interface. All connected.
Making four different ranking systems would break that connection, take a lot of time and resources to program 4 ranking systems into one interface, as well as be a hell to track it across four games.
We don’t know what the specifics of the singular system they are building for it, so we can’t really be complajning about anything.
Hints so far have said that is is fans of Halo 2’s system will like it.
You know the amount of fragmentation Halo 4’s SR and CSR system caused? A unified system is easier to maintain and work from.

It would have to be separated to some degree because of the different skill gaps per game.
Imagine in Team Doubles. Halo CE has a much bigger skill gap compared to other titles. If a team goes into the playlist and does amazing in Halo 2, 3, or 4 but gets outplayed in CE. It would be hard to track skill because the games are so different.
I would see the ranks being implemented into specific playlists like Halo 3 and not just in every playlist.
I’m sure it’s a more dynamic version of Halo 2’s ranking system.
My suggestion would be to keep two seperate ranking systems, one of which would be ported from your save files in their respective games. That way we get to keep our rank and, depending on what 343i’s plans are there, we wouldn’t lose any of the armor we worked so hard for.
They haven’t even said what the ranking system will be yet! And I really wish they would … you people and your ranking system. I know it’s important, but chill. Chillax. Take a Chill Pill, some Rx Chillaxitan. Side effects include a significant reduction in the level of unnecessary complaining.
I agrea with seperate rank for each game and game type…halo2 slayer, halo 4 flag, halo3 big team ect. So if they have the same system i.e. halo 2 type rank style across all games is fine, it was my fav anyway. just as long as each rank is seperate, i dont want halo 4 slayer rank to be the same as halo 2 slayer rank, keep em seperate like they do each game type. Also i believe h2 ranks were the bast because(besides the cheaters) it most accurately showed a players skill. not all players were mlg pros so not everyone should get a 50 like h3. a 50 should be for the very best of the best and most falling in between 25-40. I myself struggled at the 38 level in h2 and was happy with it and felt proud of that 38.
