If the bulldog doesn't kill in 1 shot....

and we have 2 hit melee kills…what’s the point of the weapon?

I can see the point in all other weapons…but the bulldog just…doesn’t make any sense to me.

If this is to replace the Halo pump, we need it to give results.

its not a pwer weapon, it shouldnt kill in 1 shot. Its an effective close range weapon that fills the role of something similar to the mauler. Gives players a more adequate close range option without it having it be a 1 shot power weapon. This leaves room in the sandbox for a power weapon like a 1 shot shotty, but the bulldog does not need to be that.

Because the time between melee is slower than 1 shot from the bulldog and 1 melee.

Or… you could shoot them twice and keep your enemy out of melee range from you.

I’ve had the same discussion with some friends. Maybe there’s still another shotgun that will be.a reliable 1 to 2 hit kill.

The bulldog has more range

Because we have a super close OSK weapon, the energy sword. The bulldog being a two shot kill is pretty exciting because it’s fundamentally not supposed to behave like the shotguns in previous Halos. You can go on a tear with the thing just by combining a shot with a melee, which is far, far faster than two shots from the bulldog or two melees. The bulldog having a high RoF and Capacity let’s it have some finesse against other players, and it truly is a skillful CQC weapon. It’s not good in a lot of hands and you have to be accurate for it to be any good. I like it

How so? You can soften the sword user from farther away and then kill them during the lunge. It’s just going to be harder than pointing and shooting once. We don’t know the range of the energy sword, we haven’t seen it at all. For all we know the Bulldog is the hardest counter to the sword ever.

Also add to the whole shotgun thing, people seem to be misunderstanding the purpose of the Heatwave. It’s a shotgun. It’s super weird, and has travel time, but it’s most effective close up followed by a second shot or a melee. Both weapons are extremely unique but fill the role of a shotgun already. But neither of them one shot, and to be honest, the shotgun in Halo in many cases never one shot anyway. The standard has always been to shotty+melee, which is still the strategy for using these weapons, they just have more effective range at the cost of their OSK
