If there is indeed the ability to sprint in Halo 4, do you think that it should be disabled when shot?
Poll is up.
Absolutely yes. Sprint is OK to have in the game. It appears that the movement speed in H4 have been increased from that of Reach and so sprinting is not QUITE as necessary, but it still helps get across large maps. Sprint allows for quickened mobility which helps the game flow smoother I believe. However, affect gameplay and should only be a small increase in speed. One of the greatest ways to have it not affect a battle scenario is if it is disabled when shot.
343i…PLEASE do this!
Yes
Question: You are running and someone throws a rock and hits you. Do you continue sprinting or do you stop?
If you answer the former to this question, you either feel no pain, are lying, or do not exist.
Seriously, I don’t understand why they DIDN’T do this. Other games I can think of disabled Sprint or at least slowed you down whenever you got shot, hit, etc. Seems kinda silly, and with the double pummels that turned into a constant for many Reach players, you’d think that they’d remedy that.
If sprint is going to be in game, damage taken should absolutely knock you out of sprint. It would eliminate double beatdowns, eliminate sword charging and eliminate people having an escape button from battle. It would become an ability used out of battle to get yourself in position quicker. If sprint had to be in the game, I could get behind it in that scenario.
Though i would rather not have sprint at all, they MUST make sure sprint can not be used to run away from battles. Halo simply has way too long killtimes for it to work otherwise. Maybe add something that when you are sprinting you take double damage or something.

I am 100% behind this for basically all the above reasons
No there would be no use in it and eventually it would be removed, which is what some people want, so no, I want sprint to stay, you’re a Spartan, why the hell would not be able to sprint??

Exactly this.
Edit: @ Ionic- The ability to sprint would still be there, but when you take damage you stop sprinting. Much like the zoom in Halo.

Yes!!! This must happen in halo 4
> No there would be no use in it
Navigating the map? Think. Before you post
Also, if sprinting is implemented, please turn down the volume of panting or mute it altogether.
It makes me feel like I’m being ambushed by a group of puppies.
Not having Sprint at all would be ideal, but if someone puts a gun to the heads of the 343 devs and absolutely forces them to include this terrible mechanic, then a system where damage prevents you from sprinting would be a decent fix.

This is exactly what I was about to post.
I don’t get it,why would 343 want to keep the AA’s idea into Halo 4 …it’s a SEQUEL taking ideas from a prequel which happend ALLLLLLOOOOONG time ago and nothing was mentioned of those ability’s during Halo 1,2,3 or ODST…dang it bungie…making stuff up for the cause of change…
-ends rant

There should be a good base movement speed to begin with, and then something called ‘momentum’ or something.
After 5 seconds of regular running with no shooting/or being shot at you move at 1.5 times default speed. A bit like sprint in that you can’t turn left or right as sharp, you can still hold up your gun and shoot, but the speed boost reverts to 1.0 times speed as you fire your first shot or if you get shot at, or if you move left or right so regular strafing. Maybe a button can activate it, and a noise lets you know when its possible.
That way it literally won’t occur at all on small maps, and could only be on big/medium sized maps to get about. And could never be used to escape a poor decision.
Also cool yellow lines coming from the back of your feet.
Or maybe just no sprint at all I dunno.
