If Regret dont died

We all know that the Prophet of regret was killed by the Masterchief. BUT if he survived somehow and make it back to High Charity, with the civil war on going, on what site would he stand? We know that he was often sorrounded by Sangheili. And he had know the Truth about the Halos and doesnt really liked The Prophet of Truth. So i think he would stand with the Sangheili and maybe even with the Humans.

It’s an interesting possibility, as is the possibility that the remaining San’Shyuum may not be hostile to Humans anymore.

Regret always hit me as the most openly bloodthirsty. I feel like if he retained any authority over elites he’d probably have been against allying with humans.

He would mostIy fight against Truth then turn on the humans.

If Regret was not kill he would have teamed up with factions like Jul’s.

If Regret would have made it back to High Charity then The Great Schism wouldn’t have occurred. The whole reason that the brutes took the role as honor guards was because a prophet was killed. The Covenant probably would have won the war against the humans and fired all the rings and no species would survive.

A prophet being killed was the excuse Truth used to put his plans into motion.

As said above Truth used Regrets death as a reason to replace the Sangheili. However that was one of the only ways he could have had a justified reason to replace the Sangheili. If Regret survived I don’t see the Schism having actually happened, maybe much later but they would have needed a reason to Remove Sangheili and them order the execution of them. As it was a political matter that gave them the power to remove the Sangheili in the first place.

And if they think he is dead, but he survived and finds an Phantom when the Schism is already happening?

If anything I believe Prophet Truth would have him killed just so that his plans may continue unhinged. Regret was a martyr, and being alive would be an issue for Truth. Which sounds a lot like how people are portraying John recently.
