why is living dead constantly and consistently the playlist with the most population size, or second to most population size?
if this game is as grand as many of you say it is, why is a MINIGAME SPINOFF doing better than every single core playlist in the game 99% of the time?
nail, meet coffin. checkmate. game, set, and match. etc.
lets not make the same blatant fails with halo 4 as we did with reach, ok? maybe if halo 4 isnt a complete joke like reach is, the living dead playlist will actually hold less population size than the core playlists!
I don’t know about that. If a living dead playlist is implemented in Halo 4, then the casuals that play it now might just gravitate to it because it’s shinier. Only time well tell for sure though.
People play it to complete the challenges/commendations and just get easy kills in general, not to mention multi-kills. Don’t get me wrong its great and I play it often but it should not be a competitive playlist, it should go into community and community playlist’s should not count towards your stats. Except maybe for Grifball which should have its own. I feel like I am cheating when I look at my stats and the Energy Sword and Shotgun are at the top. If it is going to be included in H4 then there needs to be a ranking system that does not involve challenges and that uses CR for the armoury only.

Exactly, you should be able to distinguish your stats between Ranked and Social. But in Social, the community section should not be included. I know I have played Grifball/Living Dead in order to get some challenges because it would be a lot easier in those playlists.

Who said to ever make it like that??? The other Halos weren’t specifically made for MLG either. BUT the other Halos weren’t specifically made for casuals, only Reach was.
Get over yourself buddy, trash talking because players like a specific playlist is just plain dumb. We get it Urza, you hate Reach, no need to make attention grabbing threads about it every single day.

I really hate how people love to throw around the word “casual”. Like it’s something so bad you wouldn’t even leave it in your toilet. Most people even use the word incorrectly and usually apply it to everyone who doesn’t stream every MLG video constantly.
I’ll say a lot of the default game catered to casuals and the not so serious player. Which, you know, as long as everyone is happy, what’s the problem? It still is funny that a spinoff mini game is more popular than the meat and real experience of the game…a good old 4v4.

he means that only catering to a vastly small fanbase is not going to let the game compete on the market resulting in the death of the franchise.

Can’t say going on the “noob friendly” side was the smartest choice either.

To me, the word “casual” means someone who will pick up the game and play it. But will not play it consistently. Casual cannot be compared to competitive because they are different spectrums. There is casual and hardcore, competitive and non-competitive, good and bad, veteran and noob, etc. A casual is someone who isn’t hardcore about the game, meaning that they will be there until a new game like MW3 or BF3 comes out. Most of the people on this forum, I believe are hardcore Halo players. The competitive drive is something different though.
That is why I say Reach is made for the casuals. It feels more like CoD to me than the other Halos thanks to AAs, loadouts and a bunch of other factors.

going noob friendly is the most stupid choice a developer can make, though, it’s a great way to troll.
for halo to compete on the market it is going to need aspects that appeal to the casual gamers since they are the majority while still catering to the hardcore gamers, yes the hardcore gamers are going to get upset with having casual aspects in the game they love but they probably would be more upset if the game died because it didn’t have those casual aspects.

The smartest choice would be to have both and have them in a rather balanced way.
Reach does try to get those hardcore and/r competitive players, but simply fails at doing so.
When looking at it, there are probably only 2 real competitive playlists, MLG and lolArena, vs what, 15-20 more, casual-friendly ones.
I could go on, but this subject has already been beaten to death.

uhm, never ever make a game noob friendly because a noob is a person who has been playing the game for awhile but still fails to understand it and sucks at it, why on earth would you want to cater a game to these people?
casuals on the other hand are different, they are people who don’t have any dedication to a game and only play the game because they find it fun, they tend to get there fun or reasons to play from things such as the Cr system and pick up and go styles of game, by pick up and go i mean a very small learning curve, catering to this is fine, but with halo, this should be as minimal as possible.
it wasn’t made for casuals, it was made for bad kids. They aren’t the same thing. your terminology is so 2011. In actuality it is, if anything, a turn off to casuals because it’s so confusing. All my friends who are “casuals” don’t see it as Halo and they just see it as confusing so they play CoD. Anyone who is arguing about this on the forum, is not a casual. Casual means that you DON’T CARE ABOUT THE GAME. Everyone who is part of the reach defense force IS a hardcore Halo player, most of them are just ignorant or bad. Not to say there aren’t plenty of people on here who are ignorant and good, but at least when you’re ignorant and good you at least understand the game mechanics to back up your ignorant arguments, when you’re bad and ignorant you’re just always wrong about everything.

I forgot there are only 2 communities in Halo, “casuals” and MLG try hards. Thanks for this ever so useful insight Neo. If only there were more people like you on the forums, it would be a better place.
