If prices are adjusted: Reimburse us the difference in Credits

I won’t lie I’ve got stuff off the store but I’m not going to be be mad someone else got it for less than what I paid for it. The more happy Halo Infinite players the game has right now the better. If I lose some money on it so be it.

Idk about this one… it just sounds like you regret your purchase. Try submitting a ticket for a refund and let them give you an official response. A lot of people here are bitter about the prices so you won’t get much helpful feedback when you admit that you are purchasing the cosmetics. They’ll say you are the reason for the state this industry is in. I do feel like they should give everyone a refund simply because I feel like this system is predatory for hard-core fans, but I also think it’s a lost cause. Just take this as a hard lesson for next time: don’t support freemium microtransactions no matter how passionate you are about the game.

Iv been advising people to hold off on in store purchases, be ause it’s most likely not going to be re em irsed and stuff may become free that you paid for. I say wait till season 2.

never seen that happen EVER

In what other business/context would this happen? If you purchase a bag of chips today for $3 then next week it goes on sale for $1 do you get money back retroactively? No. All purchases are final. Simple stuff.

A lot of businesses do that.
I’m not sure about your chip example (I’ve never known anyone who tried to get the difference for a bag of chips), but for larger purchases at least, companies are usually okay with giving the difference as long as it’s been a short while (3 months max).

It’s really impressive that y’all keep comparing digital VS. physical consumable items. You have to know that you’re arguing in bad faith by doing that lol.

TVs, games, furniture, etc.
I can’t think of anything specific since it’s been a while.

ok, I recently purchased Aliens Fireteam Elite, they (about a week ago?) made it available on Gamepass… Should I get back the $40 that I spent on it?

I have at no point in my life heard or seen any of this. Let me know what continent/region you live in, sounds nice.

Edit: I have heard of refunds in the case of products being recalled, that’s the only exception I’ve ever heard of.

Did you purchase it through game pass?

EDIT: Several months ago when I started welding class, I had to get the right size boot. I’m a big chick, so I had to get some specialty boots. The first pair did not fit, but the second one did - and I used the return policy to get a different pair. The store ultimately lost money, but honored their return policy / price difference.

The United States.

I haven’t checked, but if you have Game Pass, try asking customer support.
They might say no, but they might say okay.

My guess is they’d say no because it’s basically a rental service, but if they give people a discount buying it through Game Pass, they might give the difference.

That’s a return. A return in this case would be a refund basically. You can only do them within 24 hours or something IIRC according to MS policy. So the equivalent would be you buying Infinite’s Campaign, then asking for a refund within 24 hours.

What you are suggesting is that if you paid $100 on that pair of boots (I’m guessing here obviously) and they put it on sale like a week later for $80, they should give you $20 in store credit. I’ve been around a while, never once have I heard of a company doing this. Sales/markdowns are seen as methods to move stock off shelves, its a huge positive to the lucky few (perhaps many) that get it but I’ve never heard of companies retroactively giving customers in store credit for the reasons you suggest.

They won’t. They’ll say “all purchases are final” or blah blah blah.

If this were the case though holy crap I’d get back hundreds of dollars worth of MS points.

That’s your guess, but that doesn’t mean they won’t.

Nobody forced us to buy anything. If you got cookies for $5 and the very next day they go half price, the store doesn’t owe you $2.50.

You are discussing physical items. Apples and Oranges.

Digital items are already created. The service has already been paid for, it’s only really a matter of lost potential value vs goodwill.

Rockstar/GTA/RedDead, Destiny, Apex, Warframe, Gears, Halo, CoD, Battlefield, off the top of my head. All of these titles have offered some sort of digital assets in exchange for good will with the fanbase after mistakes. It could be in the form of free GTA $, Free Character models, Free Plat, Bright Dust, XP tokens, doesn’t matter what is given but there are examples.

You agreed to the price… if you wanted it cheaper you should have waited.
If they weren’t generating sales they would have dropped prices way sooner.

This is true in a lot of ways.

That is not what we are discussing. What they are asking for is that if 343i puts an item that was previously premium (as in, costed money) into the store as free (which would be a good will move) then all the people that spent the money on that item should be reimbursed.

To put this into perspective, I purchased the Mythic map pack for Halo 3 like 15 years ago, now obviously its free now, so I should be able to contact a MS customer support person and they should give me back the $20 or so I spent all those years ago in the form of MS points. Now I realize how crazy the length of time is here, but on principle its very much the same.

The “goodwill” as you say is them giving things out for free or at heavily reduced prices, anything after that is just being extra.

@KCD0DGER Going back to you, I sort of feel that this could just backfire. If every single sale and/or “goodwill” deal that goes on means they have to spent tons of manhours/time to reimburse folks then they might just decide to never reduce the price of anything. It could have unintended consequences.

Based on the comments in this thread, 343 should make less free stuff and make paid stuff even more expensive, just because it would be funny to see how wide they can divide the fanbase. They should sell NFTs too, as a joke. They should also turn the credits system into a crypto currency where the value of the spartan coin fluctuates. No refunds though.

Holy crap @TyroneRundaGang and @BlueDevistator are like the Avengers of civility in these forums: superhuman patience and level-headedness.

On topic: @KCD0DGER , while I comprehend your position, I unfortunately wouldn’t hold my breath for MS to incur additional opportunity cost: from their perspective, each $20 bundle being purchased with Refund Credits = lost opportunity for a purchase using Purchased Credits (especially if they’re going to retool the system to generate less revenue in exchange for rehabilitation of playerbase trust).
