If prices are adjusted: Reimburse us the difference in Credits

I assume you’re getting clowned on for this but it’s a pretty common business practice in companies trying to build good customer relationships, which imo they DESPERATELY need to be doing.

For instance, a software I use ( Quixel Megascans) was bought by epic games and they reduced their prices by 4x ish, so they gave everyone a huge refund in all assets purchased before that date so they could use those points on more assets. It got them a ton of good press and people were all together happy with the acquisition as a result.

It’s really not that complicated. Sure they could lose money on potential future sales, but it’s easy to underestimate the power of good press- which 343 is known for doing time and time again

Literally no, that makes zero sense. That is not how any of this works lmao.

AND YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU GET IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

Now get ready, people are going to compare your example to “the real world” and gas, food, electronics, cars, you name it!

I like this example.

Dont get me wrong I didnt mind paying for stuff before, I love it now theyve msde it cheaper because this is closer to what should be paid I would imagine.

But it would cost nothing for 343 to simply send some CREDITS back to those players who overspent alot of money. If I spent say 10000 credits then even getting 5000 compensation is good. Either way point is I like this example and it doesnt cost 343 anything to give additonal credits back to those who might have spent alot as a nice gesture

Bingo! That’s all I’m asking for!

Well, if you receive a reimbursement of X amount of credits, that’s X amount of future lost revenue for the company. Ultimately, it’s how the company wants to go. Make the consumer feel happy in the hopes they keep spending, or think the consumer (or others) will keep spending anyway

The fact that this toxic thread is still going just further proves moderator bias.

Is there a reason you’re coming in here? Just trying to start a fight or something?

This is the dumbest thing I have ever read. Be a man and suck it up. No one forced you to buy a single item, you chose to do that willingly.

I did that whole “Be a man” thing for a good 26 years and honestly it’s been great NOT being one.

Anyway, thank you for the bump.

Behold, ladies and gentlemen.

One joke.

I literally did not assume anyone’s gender. Have met a couple of agender folks though, they’re pretty cool.

Please show me where I did that. This is the worst attempt I’ve seen in years.

A direct quote from you.

“ladies and gentlemen.”

I am offended.

Oh, I was referring to spectators, not you.

Why would you want reimbursement? When I make a purchase it is just as much about supporting the developers as it is getting something cool. Don’t you want to them to keep making more games? How are they supposed to do that is they just give away money?

If that was true then why didn’t you simply drop the thread a while ago? It’s obviously not gonna happen, yet here you are continuing to drag it on. If you just thought of it as an act of good will you would’ve given up by now

Because they can still make that decision.

Wow, over 700 posts. Thought this must be a record, but no - record is 57 thousand (well, 56999)

On to the topic: There’s nothing wrong with asking the question and giving the reasons. There’s nothing wrong with responding with whether they would, or should, do what is asked and giving the reasons. Hard to understand how you get more than a handful of total posts in a thread from that.

I have no view either way on the subject.

Anyway, at risk of firing all of this up again, here’s a little bit of history:
The original Xbox launched in Australia on 14 March 2002 at $AUD649 RRP. That price includes 10% Goods & Services Tax (GST) and RRP = Recommended Retail Price (which is just that, a recommendation that retailers are free to ignore).

Additional trivia: launch RRP for the Xbox Series X is $AUD749 here - same price that the PS2 launched at back in 2000.

About a month after the Xbox went on sale, Microsoft cut the RRP to $AUD399. Those who had already purchased the box were offered a controller and choice of two first party games for free as compensation. You had to phone a number at Microsoft Australia and they posted the items out to you.

Is that relevant to the current situation? I leave that to others to judge.
