What if they give everyone 1000 credits as a good faith gesture? Everyone would be cool with that, right? It’s not real money after all.
(I’d be cool with that.)

The game is 2 months old, they ran an expensive shop for the first 2 months so you can pretty up your virtual character for too much money, after the trial phase they’ve realized prices are too high-
You wouldn’t be getting free money, you would be getting the intended purchasing power of your $20, so if a new player spent $20 on creds, and you did before the shop update, you would have the same purchasing power post update.
Trying to make a fancy statement won’t change my mind. I’ve said my peace, so if you aren’t trolling you will stop trying to change my mind
Oho man yeah I’d love that, free credits for everyone!
Aristocus makes an excellent point. Very well articulated my friend.
It’s not free money, you cannot turn credits in game to free money, so 343 loses almost nothing by refunding the diffrence… they gain alot through like customer appreciation. even refunding a little bit of the diffrence is better than nothing.
What law? The internet is international.
Anyway like the person that replied to you said, credits have no monetary value. It’s arbitrary.
Literally every single F2P game on the market that changes store prices this quickly would reimburse the playerbase with either a refund or exclusive rewards. Fortnite does it, Marvel Strike Force did it when I played that, Warframe has done it etc.
When you make up a currency you can control the value. Gift cards cost nothing in reality (or store credit).
It’s about time to put this topic to rest. The store prices have dropped. Did anyone get a refund/reimbursement?
Yes? No?
No, no we did not. But, none of the items I’ve purchased since before the price drops have appeared. So we can’t know what has and hasn’t changed.
Nope. And just accept it lol. I only spent like $5 on the store before the price drop, and I’m fine
They’re not finished with their changes. We will see
Never take the time to comment on stuff like this but I feel a stance with logical nuance is missing. I bought the large bundle of credits day 1 and still have around half of it remaining and will buy more if there is more items I believe will bring me enjoyment to justify the cost. I don’t have time to pick up multiple releases a month as I’m grinding as an entrepreneur so gaming gets a few thousand a year in disposable income. For me $20 to have red and gold armor is worth it as it adds to the experience when I find time to hop on my favorite franchise of all time. I spent about $2000 over 4.5 years of playing Fortnite and was very excited to see halo adopting a similar (vastly inferior) monetization structure. I saw this as a good thing because it means more support and content in the long run however the value for money proposition wasn’t there. I was content to cherry pick the items I really wanted and spend far less. I was happily surprised to see the devs making changes in pricing structures as I believe this will make them more money, means more items for myself / others and also means those abstaining from buying anything will hop on board, win-win-win.
To say that nothing should be done for those that bought items at higher prices is an absolutely ridiculous take and is focusing on the relationship between you and another player and not the other player and the company. You can be mad they purchased items, think it’s stupid or irresponsible and honestly I agree however this is not between you and them. 343 has offered a product and is now changing pricing not years later but in the first months of release. As pointed out above many f2p games have run into similar situations and provided refunds, extra cosmetics etc. this is not a novel idea. If nothing is done those willing to spend more money on their game will feel shafted, experience reverse fomo and in turn stop supporting the game at the same volume. Those that have refrained from spending anything will cheer and say I told you so but this does nothing for 343. As with most businesses you make 80% of your money from 20% of your customers and -Yoink!- them off is a horrible idea. There’s a few ways I thought of to handle this and make everyone happy:
Items sold before this week are reduced in price and the difference in credits is refunded. All items listed up until this point are cycled daily through the store to minimize wait times from those that are satisfied with new pricing.
Items sold before this week are not sold again at new prices for 12-24 months. Big problem is they said they wouldn’t do this.
Items sold up to this point remain more expensive adding to their exclusivity.
*1-3 custom cosmetics depending on purchase volume before the pricing change (silver weapon skin if any credits spent, gold weapon skin if 2000+, diamond weapon skin if 5000+ for example)
*Credit refund in the form of battle passes only (200IQ it keeps the whales addicted)
hey how about you go to your car dealership and ask them if they will by your car back at the original full sticker price, and see it works out for you.
Wow…just wow. I don’t understand how peoples minds work.
Nah. You guys paid for items regardless of the pricing structure at the time, that’s just paying a premium for early access and support to the company you care about, right? At least that was the general argument at the time when prices were elevated compared to now. Early supporters always get shafted, that’s just the cost of supporting microtransactions.
Thaaat’s not a terribly good comparison… a car is a physical object… these comsmetics are not they never need fixing unless 343i does some funky coding that breaks them…
Homie assumes I have a car, lmao
also y’all need to stop comparing physical and digital items. It’s not the same, lol.
Yeah it is. You bought an item and want a refund of the difference after the prices were cut.
