I won’t. Master Chief has gotta accept all those promotions he’s got stacked up for him, also he’s gotta go to the naval officer school so he can eventually lead his own fleet. Admiral Spartan John 117, that’s got a nice ring to it.
He wont be killed off. Why do people keep making threads about him dying. He won’t. It would be like Mario series killing off Mario. Cheif won’t die until the very last game, even then he might not die.
He’s not. Prolly not H6 either. More then likely in H7.
But that’s an inevitability. Nothing can stop that, and honestly though we all love him, he needs to go.
But when he finally does go, he better go out with a bang.
Locke can never hold a candle to the Chief, so I don’t think they’re going that direction.
I’m with you OP, I got into the series not only because of the great gameplay, but also because of the hero. The indomitable hero that never backs down, never gives up, never wavers, the kind of hero one can idolize during rough years in high school and quite possibly help save them from the worst effects of depression.
I doubt they’ll kill him off, he’s far too popular and it would be a swift kick in the balls not only to fans but in the lore a as well. Remember the museum of humanity was mostly dedicated to John. I mean seriously watch the video for making the John 117 monument, listen to the respect and admiration their is for him.
If, in the unlikely event that they do kill John, especially if it ends with him as a traitor then yeah I’d be done. I know the universe is greater than one man, but to me that man and his actions defined the series and if he should meet such a poor end…well what should I say?
Say what you will, but MC deserves a good and conclusive story. Sure there’s more to Halo than him, but it doesn’t change the fact that the protagonist we’ve had for 4 f*cking games should just be dispatched, he desearves a bit more respect than that. So unless he gets a good and satisfying ending, then I’m out.
I love how it’s always “There’s more to Halo than MC!” but what people don’t realize that at this point MC’s character is closely tied to the essence of the universe. You can’t just remove that without breaking something important.

For people who are new comers to halo? I would agree since you don’t hold any respect for him as many do. The world does not think like you. In fact I think you are trolling. Reported.
He won’t be killed off in Halo 5. Or any time soon. Its common sense. You never kill off the main character until the FINAL installment.
What if Rick from the walking dead died and there were 2 or 3 more seasons?
Use common sense people. I don’t know who started this “master chief could die!” thing.
During Halo 1, 2, and 4 no one thought chief would die. 3 was a reasonable time to theorize this as it was supposedly the last Halo game. But we all know Halo 5 is not the last Halo.
I don’t really idolize or adore Chief as most fans do and would really like to see more stories in the main series of games without him once his character development has run its course. And this is coming from someone who did not just start with Halo 4.
