why do they still need to find Chief

is it possible ONI and Locke are trying to find Chief because of his gene evolution by the librarian?

Whoever said Locke was meant to be Chief’s replacement? That is just an idea the community has decided to go down.

Or the Spartan-IVs are alluded to be Chief and the Spartan-IIs in general replacements. Given how they were first introduced in that game, I’d say that is the most likely. The fact you have to ask why they still need him yet believe Locke is supposed to replace him should make you rethink that premise.

A lot of people have actually . . . nothing is confirmed however.

@Bulletfrenzy I don’t think they need him at all at the moment. I’m fairly certain that will change if the flood returns.
