if jetpack just has to be in halo 4 here is how i think it should work. it should work as a sort of double jump feature. basically the jet pack and the jump button are the same button. you just press the jump button to jump and hold it to jet pack, this along with sprint would need to both be default for everyone to start with.
The jetpack is fine, Bungie wanted in Halo since Halo 2, I remember seeing a picture recently from Halo 2 Matchmaking stating that.
Otherwise, the thing on his back is a thruster pack.

no the jetpack isnt fine if it was fine i wouldnt have needed to come up with this idea.
So it would work like the Republic Jet Trooper in Star Wars Battlefront? I rather like the idea. It could come standard on Mjolnir Mark VII armour. On matchmaking I wouldn’t have a problem with a jetpack if everyone had it, as long as it wasnt too fast and powerful.
It should only be used for what it was designed for: Zero-Gravity combat (space combat).
We all have our right to an opinion, but I’d rather just not have JP- or sprint, really. I really just don’t feel they work with what we call Halo.

exactly and of course it wouldnt be as powerful as the current jp

if you ask me not having sprint or jet pack isnt what is halo it is what WAS halo. i think halo needs to move forward not backwards and at least my idea impliments it better than the AAs in reach.
I say NO. Please - PLEASE do not put armor abilities in Halo 4. Jetpack, Sprint, Armor Lock, Drop Shield, Hologram, Camo, or Evade. What I loved about the past games was stuff like the overshield, or active camo, like the stuff from combat evolved. Nobody starts with an AA, but you can aquire non useless camo or an overshield in most multiplayer levels. In Halo 3 I thought equipment was a neat idea, but I rarely used them, in fact I usually just accidentally hit the button to use what I had because I am so used to X being the reload button. I don’t want to sprint past everything or everyone, I don’t want temporary invulnerability, or camo that is see through if you move more than 1 foot per hour. I know I must be a little off topic. I just think there shouldn’t be anything like a jetpack to make things go faster.

i agree that the rest of the AAs should be removed, but this version of jetpack would work great and plus it speeds up the game if anything not slows it down
I dont think we will have jetpacks in Halo 4. The thing from the trailer is a Space Booster Pack thing. Only works in Space. So as long as we are on the ground we wont be able to use what was used the the trailer.
I hope Jetpack don’t make it to H4
Thats something I dont get…Everyone wants fast paced gameplay? Why? Some of us like slow gameplay. We arent going anywhere we arent in a rush. Just slow down and play the game you want fast paced play swat.

then I won’t buy halo 4.

Your the reason why halo is gay. Please stop! Jetpack ruins HALO!!! END OF STORY!
i personally like evade. It made the sword more of a power weapon… anyone can kill a sword going backwards that’s a guy just charging for ya with no armor ability. Plus it added more skillful tactics.
> then I won’t buy halo 4.
yeah you will
I think it should function the same as it does on Reach. BUT, only have it available on maps that are built for Jetpack combat. One specifically built for that would have it’s own, if a bit crazy, form of combat flow.
Most of the arguments i’ve witnessed against the Jetpack are targetted towards it breaking the map flow(making places harder to camp from how i understand it) So giving it it’s own specific maps would address that. I’ve played forge levels that were broken with the Jetpack available, but then that level another day with no jetpack in the sets and it was chaos.
It’s just a matter of where it is appropriate, similar to Armor Lock.
If Halo 4 has jet-pack it need to either be a double jump, or while using jet-pack you can’t shoot I can’t shoot while sprinting or evading I shouldn’t be able to shoot while flying like buzz lightyear.
It needs to be a double jump, and disable weapons while in use, if it makes it in at all.
Jetpack ruined any form of map control, made cover useless, and gave an unfair advantage against anyone using another AA, or Bumper Jumper. Something like a vertical Evade, but only 1 use at a time.
