If its really only those 3 Prometheans...

…that we get to fight, Im really hoping the game has lots of gameplay novelties.

Like in Transfromers: Fall of Cybertron, or Half-Life 2-- No two levels played exactly the same.

So I really hope from this, that 343i does’nt play safe like Bungie did Halo 3.

If its really only those 3 Promethean types, 343i… mix things up alittle.

It’s not only those 3 types, there are 4 more that have yet to be revealed.

Besides, I don’t see why any of the missions would play the same. They’re all different environments with many different enemies to fight.

I get’cha, but by “novelties” I meant like, gameplay quirks that make the level unique; like how Long Night of Solace had the Sabre, or Pillar of Autumn having the Onager MAC. Ya’ know?

I feel like every mission having a hook like that would get tedious and stale. One of the things I love about halo campaigns is getting so into it that the end mission cinematic popping up is a total suprise.

Things seem to be going in your favor so far. The mission Infinity features a drivable mech, and the mission Reclaimer features the Mammoth, which has a giant gun on the back.

According to them, each encounter with the Prometheans is always unique and highly situational due to the inter-class support system. The enemy specializations, support systems, and especially the dynamic spawning are supposed to make each encounter turn out very different.

Hopefully it lives up to what they say it is.

Quality over quantity.

Also, we’ve got the core of the Covie lineup to fight as well.

Link please!

I’ve been hearing this for a LONG time but have never seen anything regarding 7 new enemy types. From what I remember hearing in a podcast, I got the impression we shouldn’t expect more classes other than the Crawler, Knight and Watcher.

well i seen people say today that 343 didnt say there would be 7 promethean enemies that there are just 7 enemies 3 promethean 4 covenant

elites
grunts
jackals
hunters
knights
crawlers
watchers

It was mentioned there would be 7 new types of enemies to fight including the 3 promethean types we know of so far, and this isnt including the Ancient Evil, this wasnt to long ago. I believe there are enemies that wont be revealed until the game is released, it would make sense that they would like to keep some surprises for us.

All 8 have been revealed.

Then that’s too bad. I was hoping for a promethean version of the hunter, or at least, a tank, mini-boss type of enemy.

People need to learn to add it up. There are 7 enemy types, excluding the storm, but including the knight, crawler, and watcher. Those variants of the knight and crawler = 7 + the watcher = 8. 8 > 7 Therefore if we have 8 variants, then they clearly don’t count towards the 7 enemy types that are in the game. I’m sure 343i wouldn’t reveal all the enemies to Game Informer. Plus if this were true, then we’ve already seen all of the promethean knights except the commander already.

I think this might be the one you are looking for:

Knight Battlewagon seems going to be playing a similar role like hunters. They only appear occasionally, but when they do, they are huge problems

For me, the most exciting part is this quote:

"First you encounter the Covenant. Then the Prometheans. But it is when they combine forces, and how they combine, that will offer biggest surprises. "
