if it ain't broke don't fix it

My feelings on halo 5 are currently mixed. But I love the game. I just wanted to bring attention to the rank system and how I like it, and how it should also be based off of your personal performance and not your teams. I just wanted to make a post about actual positive feedback that’s not someone yelling because “my nostalgia” hell I’ve been playing halo since it came out, and my brother has just recented the game. I’m not saying just because I’m a halo fan that I have special privileges what I’m saying is that change isn’t always bad, another reason why I love this beta 5.

Nothing is perfect so I don’t expect perfect all I need is something to keep me entertained when JM not doing social events or at school. An argument i constantly see is 343 V. Bungie. Now I am no fan of destiny after its release but I was sucked into buying it by the collective hype. And after actually playing all the halo on legendary again at a more mature age I can honesty say bungie has lost that fire or lightening. And to everyone complaining about the MCC being broken and unbalanced teams etc. THEY ARE ACTIVELY TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. And if you don’t like it then take it back unless you where dumb enough to get it from GameStop. This is a very ambitious game and I salute 343 for doing so 4 different servers 1.5 remasters and the game works for the most part. Hell I would rather have this than the ubisoft run around, and I think if people learned how to ask for something instead of Malcolm Xing it to 343i doorstep and demanding their heads for something you should have foretold being broken. Nowadays I feel as if quantity is over quality, and if you know the production consumer charts as long as We keep buying these game before the release as in ore orders knowing full well they will be broken then the problem will never be fixed. So if we want a better quality of games we should all step back and call them out not yell and type angrily behind a computer screen.

And something like sprint isn’t going to make me not get a serious I love which eclipse’s star wars with this new generation coming up. And what I’m saying is the gaming industry as a whole is broken there is no reason for 10+GB of patches day one, or DLC that you have but you just need a key to unlock. I looking at COD, HALO, DESTINY, AND BASICALLY ANYTHING UBISOFT HAS TOUCHED. I want to be a game dev, so when u graduate I am going to try and fix the problem. I don’t know about the rest of y’all but you should go try to do something other than whine on a forum filled with halo conservatives, trolls, and little kids who stole the parental lock password.

Just to help can you please break your point, into paragraphs or sections? That’s all, it would help greatly.

But ya kinda true about ubisoft, we’ll have to see with the rest.

haha, damn. you wrote that entire thing on your phone??
that’s dedication lol.

Small point you made, but I thought I’d provide an argument against:

"I just wanted to bring attention to the rank system and how I like it, and how it should also be based off of your personal performance and not your teams"

The problem with a performance based ranking system, over a W/L one, is that the factors that come into deciding the level of performance of a player within a specified match, will never be fair.

I’m sure a lot of us have had games where you decide to sit back, take it easy and focus on picking off individuals of the enemy team. Resulting in you ending the game with a K/D ratio of well beyond 5. However, that game was Capture The Flag an you didn’t touch the flag for a second, let alone capture one. Moreover, you’d focus on killing the awful player on the other team as he never posed a threat do your K/D, plus, you never once communicated.

On the same team, you have someone who would throw themselves in the action into a doomed situation simply in order to defend the flag carrier, amongst other selfless acts. They will end up with a horrible K/D of something like 0.3 (for arguments sake). However, because of them you stood a good chance in winning the game as they had superb communication, controlled key points when necessary and had a thorough knowledge of how to control spawns.

You, the person with a 5.0 will by the computer’s recognition, have done very well, even though you arguably provided very little to the team’s effort of winning the game. The guy with a 0.3 will almost certainly go down in rank if based on personal stats as there is no recognition for being a good team player and ensuring the win.

Therefore, it is clear that no matter how you structure the factors that go into deciding how well a player has performed, there will never be close to an accurate representation of the truth. Relying on W/L alone to decide the overall skill level of a player is the most fair and pragmatic means of doing so. At the end of the day, competitive gaming is all about winning, if you don’t contribute to the win, then you are useless, regardless of how many medals you have or how big your spree is.

But yh, aside from that, I agree with the rest of your post somewhat.

Never though about that good point. It should vary between game modes like more team oriented matches have it off team and slayer types should be individual

OP missed the chance to say that Bungie lack the solar and arc that they used to have. :stuck_out_tongue:

I still can’t even play The MCC H2A maps with my controller settings (legacy). It’s honestly the most frustrating thing I have ever had to deal with in gaming, more than the ME 3 glitches (and ending), more than GOME match making, more than anything.
