If I'm shooting and the other guy is sprinting why is he allowed to go around the corner?

Heard this before with this exact same context lol, we’ll see if you follow through this time.

The thing about Halo 5 was that when you used the thrust slide your gun was up faster than just Sprinting meaning you could engage in gun battle WHILE flying in the air from the thrust slide. You cant do that with just sprinting

Making the video as we speak

The way YouTube was suggesting vids was based on an algorithm that could be manipulated by being more negative. So people would intentionally make videos as horrible as possible to get it suggested more and make more money. Imagine if everytime you told someone to F off you got a dollar. Well behind the scenes internet groups who just make vids for money used this to get rich and piss people off.

So instead of making it transparent how their algorithms worked they hid it so they didnt get crap for peddling hate mongering and intentionally misinformed vids. Even stuff like cooking videos were intentionally misleading because then people would down vote it and it would get advertised.

From when I use it to run for my life cutting corners and what not it’s not fast. But my enemy? Lmao it’s like they become sonic all while capitalizing on a PRECISE grenade throw. Total nonsense.

But why do they only hide the number of dislikes? Following this argument, they could completely get rid of the dislike button. The new algorythm would only go for likes and advertise more “high qualitiy” vids.

I can’t say for sure but I’d guess they want to play around with the algorithm and use that feedback still. I think the goal is less transparency, not protecting feelings. They change algorithms all the time so there isn’t this new well known algorithm. I know some computer scientist s whose full time job is to manipulate Google’s search algorithms for companies.

It’s because people kept down voting Biden and white house videos. That’s why.

But please. Let’s keep the politics out of this thread. As much as I want to talk about this it’ll just get it locked

Does sprint change the game? Yes. I don’t think it makes it worse, just different.

Do you have any evidence at all for this statement or do you just want to throw out some unrelated political agenda.

Ofcourse I do but message me outside of this fourm if you want to see the proof. Again. Don’t want this to get locked. I get it We all have heavy opinions on this. But this is not the place

Back 2 Topic.

Yeah, sprint makes you only slightly faster, but that is still enough to run away and take every corner with you to keep out of sight until shield reloads.

Keeping down shields during sprint does not hurt any game mechanic and makes the game more tactical. It is just frustrating if you play on a higher level. Halo is not a bunny chase simulator, but a strategical First Person Shooter…

Maybe you can shoot into the blue and hope that desync kills your opponent…

Here you go. He didn’t deliver. I do tho.

Note: yes I know the grapple was used in the last clip. But it still shows him sprinting around corners avoiding my shots.

For me, the no collision is much worse than sprint regen.

I absolutely hate when I get an enemy to one shot and then their teammate just walks right through them and blocks the shot as they run around the corner.

Or your own teammate runs right through you to chase them and you just hit your teammate in the back of the head.

Fixed it for better linking.

1st guy was in the middle of attaching camo, which means he was walking, not sprinting. If you would have connected your first -Yoink!-, you would’ve had him on the stairs before he rounded the corner and dropped down tunnel.

Combination of -Yoink!- placement, distance and map design were to blame here.

2nd guy did try sprinting away, but it was ultimately your -Yoink!- placement that did you in again paired with a mangler to the face. Either way there was a clear -Yoink!- to end him before he ducked down, luckily there was a teammate you could’ve coordinated with to finish off the runner, no different if he would’ve just walked away in any other Halo title honestly.

-Yoink!- placement and enemy bad luck.

3rd guy, well you admitted it, used grapple to clear distance. Even if he used sprint, the grapple was the determining factor here.

Edit: apparently S H O T is now a no no word

The reason I showed the 3rd guy was because I still killed him. And this is important because

Can you counter sprint? Yes. But a lot of the time people just run away. The running away part is the stressful part. Not that they got away. I’m not mad that I didn’t get the kill when they get away. I’m frustrated with the wasted time on Sprint. Because when someone Sprints away it just adds time to the game over all. A lot of time is wasted on movement rather than the actual game being played. You could see it in oddball. Even within one round it goes to time s lot because people are busy pot shotting and sprinting.

Either way. The 2nd clip even tho I died he still should’ve been forced to at the very least stay on the platform somehow. He shouldn 't be able to go over that corner like that.

I haven’t found the clips of me getting away yet. I guess I haven’t taken much if those. Once I do you’ll see a different perspective of what I’m talking about.

The first guy sprinted AFTER he put on the camo. That’s how he was able to turn the corner quicker on the last corner after I lost him. If he was walking I would still seen him on the corner of either corner wether he went left or right. After he puts on camo you can’t see the player but if you time it he definitely didn’t walk after putting on the camo. He sprinted after and then around the corner. This is what I mean by reengaging. He was already in front of me. I -Yoink!- have to reengage him. It’s not like when I found him he was already turning the corner and I wasn’t far either. I should’ve been able to keep the same pace with him WHILE shooting.

The third guy turns and avoids damage with the Sprint twice. The first time before the grapple and then the last time after the grapple. If you remove the first time he got around the corner with Sprint and was just walking I would’ve had more time to put more shots. By the time he grapples I would have a chance to get him weaker. And then after the grapple if he couldn’t Sprint then he would be walking. Meaning. Another chance for more time to kill him. This overall slows down the entire game. He could’ve been dead earlier is the point

" Something that rewards bad plays. I can’t even tell you how many times I saw someone commit to a battle and right at the last second they tuck their tail between their legs and runaway"

Please, everyone stop what you’re doing. Listen to the great and wise PvP oracle tell you that you’re doing it wrong if you don’t stand there so he can -Yoink!- in the head…

I am so tired of this inane decade long sprint debate! While the PvP master race has been whining that running away is not fair, other games have passed Halo by in movement, functionality and features.

I get it, some old timers have a great nostalgia for the movement in Halo: Combat Evolved where your feet felt like they were stuck in concrete. But that was 20 years ago. 20 years ago when people were using flip phones and logging into AOL (that’s America Online for that younger crowd that has grown up and graduated from high school since Halo:CE was released).

“Going around is just reengaging”

And…, what, are you trying to keep your R/D number low, (Re-engagement to Death).

“Something that slows the entire game down.”

Here’s some ideas: Lets add more movement and significantly reduce the re-spawn timer. Or maybe just add more players (6v6) to the already somewhat small maps. That would make the matches go faster.

Is that what this about? Irritated because while chasing after one player, getting whacked by a different player coming around a corner…

Yeah I really don’t like this either. I even made a play where I was walking with the flag and and since we were meshed together someone walked up and we insta killed him because we both meleed him at the same time and since we were meshed together both melees connected at the same time instead of back to back.

Super broken. Idk how the HCS pros play for money on this

I actually happen to be a fan of Sprint and a fan of Halo 5 which DID add the movement that would make the game faster.

The thing about Halo 5 is that the ablities let you fight AND move fast.

In halo infinite it’s just.

Sprint don’t sh oot.

Sho ot don’t Sprint.

Where as in halo 5 you can

Thrust,slide, jump AND sho ot.

Thrust and shoo t.

Stabilize and sho ot.

But no. That’s not what this post is. I like Sprint and I’m not really talking about another player killing me. What I am talking about is the exact nature of this Sprint and how it’s frustrating that it’s all that’s done in this game. It takes away from everything else in the game.

But yeah respawn should be faster. Sprint should be faster. I’m definitely advocating for a faster game. A more skill based game that rewards you for outplays. This game needs more “outplay potential” because right now it’s just Sprint around corners, melee and spam greandes. Everything else is secondary

Edit: it’s not just one word. A whole bunch just got censored just now. What’s going on

oooooooooooooooooaaaaaAAAAHHH SPRINT THREAD REENGAGE!
