If Halo 4 got a 10/10 or a 5/5 from any of the various, well known gaming sites, would you all say that it was paid for?
A lot of people love to say that whenever a CoD game scores over a 9 (pretty much most of them)it is paid for. However, I’ve always wondered if people would keep their same logic if a game they liked got such a high score.
So what will it be? Halo 4 comes out and gets a 10/10…heck, even a 9.5. Was it paid for? Or are you going to ignore all of the logic you throw upon “undeserving reviews” and say that a 9.5/10 is what H4 deserves?
People who think IGN get paid to give high ratings are, well, I can’t even think of a suitable word so we’ll just say silly.
Websites like IGN are extremely biased because they don’t get a lot of hands on time with the game to give it a full review, until they’ve played every Campaign level on all difficulties, all the Multiplayer levels on every game mode and played through the first season of Spartan Ops, then their rating should mean absolutely nothing and technically, it does mean absolutely nothing.

Which is why I don’t go by what these game rating websites like IGN have to say about the game. Although, they did give Arkham Asylum and Arkham City good ratings, and I would agree with them there.=/
I aboslutly DESPISE Game Rating companies, they’re too biased and if COD gets a high rating like a 9 then I get the sense that they were paid or they just don’t know a Terrible game series is when they see it, just imagine the hipocrisy of IGN giving Black Ops 2 a 9.5 after making it Number 5 in the worst games shown at E3…

See that right there is what I’m talking about. Call of Duty isn’t terrible franchise. Each installment provides great gameplay and is really fun. You say that if it gets a good score, it’s paid…yet you’re probably the first one to say that Halo 4 deserves no less than a 10. I just don’t get it.
Game reviewers have no idea what they’re talking about for the most part, so I usually tend to ignore them and not care what they rate a game. If anyone takes game rating seriously, well… that’s good for them.
Well they gave Halo Reach a 9.5 I believe, and I don’t think it deserves that high of a rating. On the other hand, I do think Halo 3 deserves a 10/10… with that being said we’re talking about somebodies subjective opinion that is as worthy as yours or mine… the fact that Gladiator got dismal ratings from movies sites proves that the people who get to see the movies/video games first and rate them are a bunch of nobodies.
Game review sites operate on a tight schedule. They usually don’t have enough time to fully appreciate games, just to take a quick spin through the campaign on the easiest difficultly, try out a bit of co-op, and hop in and out of a few multiplayer matches. Thus, most reviews will be - well, not biased, but limited in scope.
I dislike people claiming that game reviewers were paid to give certain games a good score. It is fairly obvious when people make these claims just because of fanboyish hatred for other game franchises. While it’s possible that game reviewers are paid to give good reviews, most usually don’t accept bribes, and even if they do it’s usually easy to make out the bias.
So if Halo 4 gets a 10, I wouldn’t say it’s biased or bribery or whatever. From what footage I have seen so far, it looks as though it deserves a 9 and above. Despite my reservations towards a certain game series, I have to admit that Black Ops 2 may also be deserving of a relatively high score.
