If I was promoted to Head of 343

In this scenario I become the Head of 343 Industries and I’ve been granted absolute power to turn this warthog around. This is the memo that would be going out to everyone in the company. Following the memo, a long meeting with all managers would take place to reinforce the new priority list.

Good Morning,
I am Bansheeman, the new head of the company brought on by microsoft game studios to salvage this billion dollar franchise. After a through analysis of our current development cycle, it is clear that these last four years have been absolute hell. I commend you for your dedication and now I will be asking you for more. We are in a dire situation. We have currently missed every release deadline we have established. The passionate community dislikes us and is calling for a new company to take over our franchise. We have been shunned by the larger microsoft games community, they see us as a sinking ship. We are not a sinking ship and it’s up to us and our work to prove everyone wrong. It’s 343 vs the world.

As you all know Haloween is a pretty big community deal. Upon reviewing internal timelines, there was no Haloween update scheduled. Now there is. The MCC Team will immediately cease all work and join the Infinite team to maximize productivity. I expect your finest work to deliver infection with a new map, along with great haloween cosmetics both free and paid. (good thing we have a lot of great artists!) Next, the top priority for engineering and programming is fixing the servers and desync. If we’re going to retain players, they need multiplayer stability that encourages them to continue playing. You will be expected to provide a high quality and stable update no later than the last week of October when we run this surprise in game event.

We’re going to DELIVER a real treat to the community this Halloween. Also for all your hard work, there’s going to be a 4 figure bonus added to your holiday bonus this year! Double Bonus! But what’s better than double bonus? Triple Bonus!!

Triple the bonus for the entire studio if we can deliver on the winter update on schedule AND have at least 1 item on the list release earlier than anticipated.

Lastly, there is a mandatory meeting for all managers this afternoon. We will be going over priorities for each and every department & project so it’s going to be a long day. Tomorrow you’re going to be tired. But we’re going to be seeing more confidence in your step. It’s 343 vs the world and we intend to win.

Cordially and Sincerely Yours,
Bansheeman
Head of 343 Industries

you should call yourself Mr. X btw, sounds cooler.

You can absolutely make the case that MCC doesn’t need any more updates, that they need to transition them into Infinite, not a bad executive decision frankly. They should hire you lol

Do you honestly not believe that something like this has actually been sent out within the studio already?

I do like the idea of focusing all of the attention on multiplayer and taking team members off of coop campaign in order to hit these live service deadlines, but now the campaign realm is suffering and that’s the money I spend on Halo Infinite.

Co Op Campaign would be considered part of the winter update and which would see no delays. As the head of 343 I’d also uncancel couch co op and slate it for a season 4 release. It just wouldn’t work on the xbox one version. Hardware from a decade ago won’t cut it today.

This is exactly why I never bought a Series X because I knew that I’d be able to run Halo Infinite through my PC and wouldn’t need another way to.

Coop campaign is an essential piece of the puzzle and needs to make it’s way into the game.

“It’s going to take at least six months to get these MCC guys up to speed with our dev tools to start making content”.

The MCC Team is largely familiar with the dev tools we use. In areas where they will be unfamiliar, they will be doing supplemental work that the current team will then implement as project leads.
