Not worth it, you can get banned from xbox live for faking regions to play a game earlier, just wait like the rest of us. Its only 1 day!
I’m almost certain Australian players game codes will be set apart from the rest of the world. Whether that be an identifying marker in the game product code or that it was purchased from the Australian Xbox Store, who knows.
I wouldn’t think changing your region would do anything.

It only works if you bought the game on the AU store originally. If you bought it on the US store or w/e and then switched to AU on your console it doesn’t work.
I think the codes given in Australia are recognized as an Australian code and vice versa so I don’t think it will work.
I think it´s not working. Either the “ready to play time” of your game is connected to the marketplace you´ve bought it from, or the timezone of your IP Adress. So changing your region won´t work.
