How would they survive exactly? People are saying they might return in Halo 5, and assuming their huge, Tier 0 Aliens and not Flood infected, and considering we don’t know how the Forerunners defeated them, Humanity is not exactly on par with the Forerunners technology-wise, and the fact that the Precursors can create and destroy life at will, how exactly would we fight them?
(I was looking around Halopedia and I think it mentioned Humanity being Tier 2 in 2557)
Well, no matter what the Precursors bring (assuming they do show up in Halo 5-6, I’m still a bit skeptical.) to the fight, it’s going to be one hell of a tough fight.
I mean, as you said, they’re Tier 0, the pinnacle of technological achievement. They will have weapons at their disposal that can do things we’ve never even imagined capable.
They might have some sort of theme to how they work or what they fire. UNSC use projectiles, Forerunners have Hardlight, and the Covvies, of course, use plasma-oriented weapons.
Since we’ll be fighting their footsoldiers if they happen to show up and appear in game, I wonder what they’ll use. Machines like the Didact perhaps? Precursors themselves are huge, fighting them individually would probably be a mission in itself.
Maybe Silentium will shed some light on how the Precursors wage war exactly, since we have little detail on that.
Whatever it may be though, it’s going to be interesting.
I don’t think they’ll be in there because of the lack of precedence in Halo 4, but if they were, there would probably be some major changes or alterations from the original ones.
John might not last 5 seconds against a Precursor…
Machines may just work out better than real live Precursors for obvious reasons. It’s strange how the Forerunners beat the Precursors, the Precursors have the ability to destroy the Forerunners at will, how could they have let that happen? Maybe it was hubris that got to them…
They won’t be fighting them alone. I’m sure the remnants of the Forerunners will unite with them along with the Sangheili and any Covenant Remnant once they all see the SHTF.
Sorry to sound so cynical, but you know what happens exactly. We’ll all lose dramatically and then all of a sudden either:
A: Oh, wait, we have MC, you’re all going to die alien scum! XPX
or
B: Well, we found they just left some of their weapons unguarded… hmmm… let’s attack them with their own powerful guns!
and so all the giant evil alien scum barbarians died, and the humans lived happily and peacefully everafter, the end.
Humanity is in possession of a few big guns, known as halos. Whether we can manage to use them properly and deploy them is another thing. The UNSC has to figure out how they can be used individually, in localized blasts, and moved strategically around the Milky Way.
The Precursors themselves won’t show up, they will test us for the Mantle.

Precursors would never fight you themselves, they’s send you a test like the Flood.
The Primordial himself was a combination of many different species, and that likely was what led to his size and the fact he was also a Gravemind of some kind.
We dont know what form Precursors actually have, and it could very well be a Human like form like ours and the Forerunners.
I am not so sure about the destroying beings at will aspect of their legend. I believe rather their technology is similar to the Forerunners who are able to manipulate environments that are indeed their own similar to how the Didact himself did in the Campaign.
Precursors enjoy using a blend of Organic, Mechanical, technology meaning it is living, and it is likely they take advantage of this fact similar to the Flood.
