If HUD had different colors and looks

It would prevent 343’s too much customization with coolness and meaningful. I want to see different HUDs depend on helmet you are wearing and colors depend on which visor you are using. Like campaign did, why not multiplayer? (Including Arena and Warzone). It doesn’t affect the gameplay that much, feels same.

They talked about that during The Sprint, but one of the biggest things was keeping everyone on a level playing field. They kept different HUD’s for campaign, but for Multiplayer it was about making sure that nobody had an unfair advantage

No, it’s because 343 was too lazy and needed proper reason for it, and they said there is reason for having identical HUD, to keep players fair. Well, it’s player’s choice to have unfair advantage, if they want fair gameplay, they can stay on standard HUD. I think different HUDs are not affecting gameplay at all. I never felt disadvantage during the campaign while playing between Locke and Chief… They feel same…

Then why’d you ask in the first place? If the you decided the answer is “laziness” what was the point of asking? No Halo game has had that in multiplayer. Why does that make them lazy? You want a unique HUD for each of the 191 helmets and variants of them for what? To show off to … yourself?

“Hey, I just got Pioneer HUD”

“Wow! What’s it look like?”

“I can’t see a damn thing!”

“Cool! That’s even better than the Tracker helmet’s three small dots!”

lol. I know that’s not how they work. They’re still silly helmets, though.

It’s immersive, mainly. I wouldn’t mind playing the multiplayer with even one of the campaign’s visors. It just looks cool, and makes you feel like you’re actually in the armor. As for armor like the Tracker armor, it uses cameras and internal screens. So it wouldn’t just be three small dots on your HUD.

Begging your pardon, but how is it an unfair advantage when everybody has the same options at their disposal? Are you at an unfair disadvantage if you chose a fork over a spoon to eat soup?

Of course, I’m assuming that the options would available from the beginning rather than the glorified slot machine. How naive of me.

Watch The Sprint and you’ll see them debating over over it, just a shortened version for the cameras. Playing campaign is very different from playing multiplayer against other users and one of the biggest complaints about Halo 4 was unequal starts. For Arena in Halo 5 343 made sure everyone have the most level playing field they could and one of the ways was to keep the HUD the same for each person. Has nothing to do with being lazy, I’ll echo MrMartini85’s post on that

This community has the craziest analogies I’ll give you that, they just keep popping up. Shapes, view, positioning of items on the HUD, sizing, they can all affect how you play in the game. Keeping everyone with the same HUD removes any possible advantages or disadvantages one might have - could be the smallest of blind spots.

I just want the campaign versions of the helmets to have the same HUDs as they do in the campaign, I think that would be cool.

But if something as small as the HUD gives an advantage, wouldn’t having a red vs blue team also be unfair? According to some studies, players of the same skill level playing with each other are more likely to lose if they’re blue, because the red players are more aggressive.

Right, but under the assumption that every HUD is available from the beginning rather than the new HUD for every helmet idea, there’s no haves and have nots. I see it no differently than having reticle choices and FoV sliders.

It would be pretty cool to at least be able to change the color though.

I welcome different colors

Don’t think I’ve come across these, do you have a link to any of them?

I’ll get it.

How would a different HUD make it unfair? they all show the same information. Back when there were playable Elites both teams had completely different HUD’s and nobody cared. They just need to make sure all of them are easy to see.

Ah, ok, it was in a book. Which means I can’t get it, but the colors are shown to subconsciously effect your mind, and red typically makes people more aggressive. So always seeing red in-game would likely make you more aggressive and give you the tiniest advantage on the enemy. But all of this also depends on how you are affected by it and what sort of game you are playing.

Changing the colors would be cool

Shhhhhh!

I dont understand the lack of customization of emblems and armor. I liked making my own emblem and mixing a matching my armor why take that out? Makes no sense
