If Halo XBO is Halo 2 Anniversary ...

… should they keep the cutscenes essentially the same using the in-game engine with maybe a touch of motion capture (like they did for Halo Anniversary) …

-OR-

Should the cutscenes be completely remade using the same quality CG they used in Halo 4 & Spartan Ops (or better)? Mind you, NOT using the Halo 4 engine, just the same caliber of CGI to make the scenes as realistic as possible. They’d be the same scenes, just with movie-quality CG.

What do you guys think? Original game engine cutscenes or CG?

Definitely original in-game cutscenes. Changing them up would just ruin it for me and many others. If I’m buying Halo 2 exactly as it was with updated visuals, I’m expecting to get Halo 2 with updated visuals, and not a changed up game. Of course, the exception would be to fix the glitches in multiplayer, but that’s a whole other discussion.

Yes, those glitches need to dealt with, IMO. I know some people want to keep it all original, but I’d like to play the old Halo 2 multiplayer without them.

As far as CG scenes, the idea came from my Fiance asking me if they were going to start doing that for all Halo titles in the future, and that got me wondering about H2 Anniversary.
They would be the exact same scenes, only recreated out-of-engine using CGI. The idea seems neat, but as I think of it now, if they were EXACTLY the same, people would probably just assume they were the original in-engine scenes, so it probably wouldn’t be worth the trouble.
I suppose I just want to see the Prophet of Truth up close with the same caliber of detail they used on Jul Mdama in Spartan Ops.

CG cutscenes would be nice but i have to say in-game as well. And for me the biggest reason why i think the glitches need to be fixed at least in matchmaking is because of modded controllers. I really don’t want to face people with full auto BR’s all the time.

Honestly I’d say remake them, doesn’t matter if they are remade in the same style or with CG, just remake them.

I say this because Halo CEA’s cutscenes don’t hold up well with time. You see fancy new models but with mediocre animations and god awful lip syncing. It just looks contrasting and wrong.

I don’t see why anyone would be against keeping the cutscenes the same but improving the visuals and flow of animation.

it would take to much effort to fix the old cut scenes, they will leave them as is
