If halo was not f2p how many people would buy it

Now I am talking forge and co op in game as older games

I think between 8 million to 13 million copies times 60

So between 400 million to 720 milion

I know model might make that over time but I think they would done better job bring mp with cost.

I think they be better off selling maps using maps force players buy. Early access or wait 3 months.

The big appeal for free to play is that new players can come into the game consistently, especially after a big update or something.

Yes but if this is way they do it I rather not. So they found maps data mining which tells me they have maps done but they want trickle stuff out…

I wish they stop being fortnight

I certainly wouldn’t have bought it in the state its currently in. Unfortunately, it seems like the way to go for modern AAA games is to wait a year or two after release so that you can get it when the game is actually finished.

The only thing keeping this from being almost BF2042 levels of sad is that, to 343’s credit, the game itself works and flows decently well (most of the time).

I know I wouldn’t have but this game would’ve flopped very hard if it was paid

If 343 released a feature rich, fully functional game, I would buy it. As it stands now, I have installed, and played Infinite, but not given one cent to the game. It is a shame, because I love playing Halo.

I would have paid for a full game for sure. Would have spent up to $150 on a Legendary Collectors Edition if it were available.

However, I will not spent a dime on that store at those prices. I enjoy, and try to collect everything in these games, but the free to play model kills that because a player will have to spend a ridiculous amount to keep up.

It doesn’t matter if it was f2p or not. How things have been handled is the actual issue.

It also didn’t help with all the false advertisement. As of right now players are paying for an incomplete game that has major issues with minimal effort being put into it.

I would’ve brought it, but if I had I’d be way more unhappy then I am now.

But question is state game is infact direct result of f2p if not then their incompetence.

Now data dive shows new maps and game types but this shows that most work is done and so they are doing trickle effect.

I think they should done something in middle where u mainly pay earlier release where map packs and armor.

What I would think be fine if they have challenge armor but you pay or play for complete custimation p

I would pay for full if it came with fully functional custom game even with promos of forge.

Right now custom is in such poor shape and no info on fixing it which would hinder forge if kept

To be honest if it wasn’t on game pass, I would not have played it at all. Tired of buying a game and
DLC at full price only for it to be on sale with all DLC for a third of the price later on down the road.

I completely agree, but to answer the original question, I definitely would have bought this game.

The fact that they have zero direction and seem to be making it up as they go is the real issue. And if they do have a plan, where is it?

This game is a total cluster.

Down side of F2P is alot of people generally won’t come back to the game after a chain of bad experiences,
Of if the game is broken in some way.

Because realistically there are only so many new players a game can pull.
From the pool of people who Already own an Xbox and who also like Arena FPS games.
The PC side of Infinite is all but dead at this point.

There’s also the issue of cheaters having constant access to the game because making new accounts is also free.

I’m sure they would

Halo: Infinite is still more or less under active development. With Master Chief collection I have maybe 400 hours playing the campaigns though and through. The game is not expectly speed run oriented. The enemies hunt you down.

It’s true, they don’t have a direction, plan or anything for that matter, and in the process the Halo fans got screwed over because they are winging it.

IMO the game got rebooted for whatever reason. So knowing that they screwed themselves over in the process. Now they are trying to cover their a** even though it’s not working by passing off BS so the naive players will stick around.

OH HELL NO!!! I would have asked for a refund. I had bought Titan Fall the day it was released. After one day I got a refund! Steam Rules if I remember is was 4 days. I got a refund from Steam in 72 hours. I just had to prove there were issues with the game. All I did is goto the forums and gave them links for proof!

It totally got rebooted when they received backlash from Halo 5s campaign. That’s why when Halo 5 ends, the text “See you on Sanghelios” comes up, yet Infinite starts on Zeta Halo.

They hit the rest button as hard as it can be hit, by changing story, art style, and engine. There is even an interview done with 343 where they talk about wanting to copy what Breath of the Wild did only with Halo. That’s great except it came out 18 months later. So why are they still thinking about the game design 18 months AFTER the release of Halo 5? They should have been elbow deep in Halo 6s development by then.

Their leadership has been top notch.

A ton of the concept art shows Master Chief in the Halo 5 armor. Although there is a splash of Halo Wars 2 via Atriox and stuff in the concept art, there definitely seemed to be a little more Halo 5 very early on in development.

I can only imagine the crapstorm that occurred behind the scenes in development (bonus points for how we made them delay the game from 2020 when it still didn’t look up to par).
