How can it possibly be a fair competition when you match a player from Sweden with a player in the US, who might be sitting 10 miles away from the dedicated server? The Swedish player might have a potential ping that is OVER TEN TIMES that of the US player. The same is true of the reverse of course (US player on an EU server).

Creating a fair competition under these conditions is mathematically impossible.

I’m fairly sure a massive company creating an international competition with a huge sum of money as the prize, would have to adhere to various laws. Creating a fundamentally unfair and biased competition like this could actually be seen as illegal.
