If Halo infinite is meant to last the next 8 years. They need to fix the storyline

Okay so I’m not going to say any spoilers. But from my heroic run I gotta say, congratulations to 343 for finally making a good campaign. But I feel like 343 took our negative feedback from 4 and 5 the wrong way. I want to finally fight a guardian, like the prometheans were introduced as a new enemy and we see none of them… I mean I loved the banished and og sentinels, but there are too many story archs now. Everything that 5 and wars 2 built up gone… Erased from existence to add a new story arch. This storyline feels too much like reboot than giving the fans actual conclusions. Not to mention I feel like coop, can’t work with this formula. From Chiefs equipment skill tree to the boss fights. I loved the campaign don’t get me wrong, but if this games meant to become a live service for the next 8 years etc. They need to make more single player additions to clean up the storyline, introduce a coop experience ie spartan ops 2.0 but on the ring six months prior to Chiefs awakening. And better multi-player customization. I know eventually. we will see forge and firefight. But this game has a lot of potential. Don’t pull a starwars, and make 3 crappy storylines. Just fix it while you still can. I do believe in you 343

I thought it was a great campaign. Really enjoyed it.

It essentially was a reboot. But the franchise needed it.

And there is plenty of time for both H5 and HW2 to be given time to breathe going forward. We know so little about the state of the universe.

I loved the campaign but they didn’t need to reboot a whole new story arch without finishing what they started people didn’t like 4/5’s storylines but as a fan I was more upset that nothing ever gets a full conclusion only more questions

knowing 343, the other details will be portrayed in paid DLC for the campaign

That’s clearly its intent, and I think it was a good decision. Sure the way they did it was rather unceremonious, but they went from “Master Chief and Cortana are romantically involved” to “Cortana is dead” to “Cortana is kind of not dead but now she’s evil” in two games, and they should have resolved it in Halo 5 itself instead of making half they game about a more or less irrelevant rivalry between Master Chief and Locke for the first half of the game.

This campaign is as close to a reboot as you can get without just saying that nothing before it ever happened, but that will give them a much better starting point to build on rather than drawing all of the baggage of Halo 5 out. As far as Halo Wars 2 I would expect to see much more of the story set up in that game explored.

The way I see it.
All your issues can be fixed in dlc.
blue team. Escort halsey try find a way home. Classes.

Osiris. Take down the banished (that particular banished)/survive with less gear odst style and regroup

Alpha nine. Find a way home. Greatest hits a la H3odst

Spartan 4s on the ring day one, spartan ops 4 as coop.

Next 117 adventure continues story and ties the rest together.

I think they’re going to conclude that story with a title like Halo: Reach.

Once they’ve found a good way to conclude it, they’ll create a game to explain the gap between 5/Wars 2 and Infinite.

DLC could also be used to extend the campaign, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a stand alone title was released for such a conclusion as stated above.

This was meant to instill in us confidence in 343, which they sort of did sort of didn’t. Story wise yes; overall progression and game/design decisions not so much.

So long as they bring in some major stuff from 5 or Wars 2 it should work out, personally I’d like Pavium and Voridus in this

Halo Infinites story was result of Halo 5’s horrible story.

Think of 4/5 more of like a prequel to Infinite
