I haven’t played Halo MCC for a couple of months and just played it before and Damn! Halo 3’s gameplay is awfull! The weapons are very weak, you jump very high, you feel very slow etc. This game is fun if you play with friends but it’s not good for multiplayer! I know some guys that like it but I know some others that don’t and I’m one of them! I prefer the new gameplay mechanics but if you want to bring back classic gameplay it’s fine but do something close to Halo 2 (not an exact copy). Halo 2’s gameplay is pretty good! Sorry but if you do a gameplay for Halo Infinite that would be similar to Halo 3’s then sign me out! I just saying that now because it’s still early and I want to say what I want for the next Halo! Make your discussions 343i but do something that everyone will like!
Edit: As I saw from your replays I have to make clear some things! I haven’t read every reply so I may forgot something but I’ll try to do my best!
For those who saying “Goodbye” or “leave” or things like that: No comment!
For those who saying “What’s the difference between Halo 2 and 3”: Because you can’t Sprint on both it doesn’t mean they are the same! I’ll explain some things! Halo 3 had bad weapon balances, the weapons were very weak (some were totally useless like SMG), The gameplay feels very slowly and many other things! Halo 2 had bad things too and that’s why we don’t need copies!
Someone said “There’s not even a beta. How can you judge the game?” or something like that: Well like I said it’s still early that’s why we should tell 343 Industries what we want so they will know!
For those who saying “You can’t make everyone happy!”: Yes you can! Like I said I prefer the new gameplay mechanics (like Halo 5) and some guys want the pure classic gameplay! If we get a mix or something balanced it would work! Just think of that!
Okay, so what to you is different between Halo 2 and Halo 3?
See, we’ve gotten some distance now between these titles and now, developers have been getting better at visual feedback and so forth. I’d argue that if you were to remake Halo 3 with all the mechanics intact today, you’d still end up with a game which feels somewhat different due to the different visuals and whatnot. More fluent, more responsive and so forth.
For instance, stripping Halo 4 of everything Halo 3 doesn’t have, doesn’t make Halo 4 feel like Halo 3. More like Halo 3 yes, but still not exactly like Halo 3.
The “behind the scenes” things which influence your experience does matter.
To the point of you saying make something everyone will like, that’s not possible. Everyone had a different definition of a Halo game. Some people it’s story, others is multiplayer and other is forge/customs. Some like old Halo and some like new Halo. A compromise between the two wouldn’t work because you’d anger both sides. 343 needs to have a vision and execute that vision to the best of their ability. If it’s old style, go for it. If it’s new style, go for it. You can’t make everyone happy, so there’s no point in that being their goal. They need to make the best game possible and let it speak for itself.

You think Halo 2’s gameplay is better than Halo 3’s? LOL. You must be joking, I’d rather play Halo 3 since it’s much more polished than Halo 2’s then to deal with combos that makes the game unfair and gamebreaking. No thanks. Halo CE and 3 ftw.

Well, I think the most obvious one is that the BR was projectile based, like many other weapons. The engagements on larger maps are very different. It’s hard to describe, but it was more about calculating the damage you would make on your enemy. Often times you will see your enemy, but wouldn’t do much damage because he is too far away.
In Halo 2 however, you’ll permanently get shot across the map. I’ll never understand what’s so much fun about that. Given the fact that there was no Equipment in H2, made it even more frustating. Don’t even get me started on the bullet magnetism.
So the weapons in H3 were not weak (I’m refering to OP), they just require more skill to take someone down, due to the fact that you would have to lead your bullets. But I don’t know why people complain about such things.
It should be faster than 3 and slower than 5, in my opinion. Although technically speaking they may not be so different because sprinting is mostly just an illusion. 5 without sprint would probably be a fair deal.

Halo 2 legit without modding or any kind of combos I’ll take any day over halo 3,and I love halo 3.The hit registration is very frustrating in halo 3

“Halo CE and 3 ftw.”
You do realize, given your logic, CE is even more unfair than Halo 2, since players not only have combos, but you can literally spawn in enemy fire (and yes, competitive players can and will predict it accurately in 2v2). I’m not saying you are wrong for thinking Halo 3 is better than Halo 2, but at least have consistent logic.

The lack of hitscan utility weapons, coupled with dramatically more randomized bullet spread and poor hit detection, kills Halo 3 for me. I like long range engagements, and that is borderline impossible on Halo 3 because anything past 20 feet is a coin toss. The AR into melee was one of the most common metas for a reason; anything at range was too easy to escape from, meaning combat was so close, melee trades were frequent, something you see relatively little of in games like H2 and H5.
The only thing that I hate about Halo 2’s gameplay is the screen flare when you’re getting hit. It’s way too high; aside from that, the game is more consistent, with button combos adding an extra layer to combat H3 doesn’t have.

Fun fact, Halo 5 also features projectile. It’s just that the hardware has improved to the point where it’s actually good.
For all fo those saying that Classic halos gameplay is slower let me explain something to you. It takes the same amount of time to walk around midship as It does to sprint around truth (the midship remake for those who didn’t play older halos.). The difference is in H3 and H2 you could shoot while moving around the map. So the gameplay was in reality much faster.

I can however sprint slide boost across truth faster than I can walk across midship. I can hit reliably across the map with the utility weapons, and the weapons ROF is faster than H3. H5 games tend to go by faster, and engagements tend to be quicker
