I agree with the original thread on this topic. I didn’t pay good money to get banned for me leaving games. I am an Apartment manager, and I have to help tenants at my building because they are elderly. So if I have to leave, and help someone… I better not have to worry about getting banned. I will also trade in this game, and they can lose another customer. I don’t care how good the graphics, and gameplay are… Also If having no ban for quitting makes it worse, then you other people better deal with it or play alone… I own halo 4 now but I’m debating if I should return it… I will get my full payment back… If this game has a ban for quitting then I’ve had enough. GAME OVER. I don’t like it that much… I would like to keep it, and buy the DLC… But if there is a ban then I’m done.
The quit ban is in place for people who abuse it. Have you been banned because of quitting in the past? If not, then I wouldn’t worry about it. It doesn’t sound like you quit too often.
EDIT: The quit ban, as far as I know, is about a 10 minute ban the first time. I’ve never received the warning because throughout Reach and Halo 4, I’ve only quit a handful of matches.
You are only concerned about yourself and how about all the players that you leave behind to fend for themselves. JIP takes care of that now but if you constantly are quitting then you deserve the ban and I have no sympathy for those who receive it.

And unlike Reach, it’s for 60 mins.

Team Throwdown is the perfect example of how others ruin it for players and a majority aren’t quitting to go take a justifiable washroom break before they pee themselves.

So, why not disable JIP for throwdown and have exp/matchmaking bans from certain gametypes, including throwdown.
I play a lot of Grifball, and if I JIP a game that’s 4-0 with 1 other player on my team, 4 enemy players spawn killing us and over 5 minutes left on the clock, I’m going to quit.
It isn’t some high-and-mighty thing to be able to sit through 5 minutes of unplayable destruction. JIP is meant to get rid of these issues, because if you quit out, someone who might be able to do something about it can JIP.
And that’s only one example, don’t get me started on repeated lag games, purposeful team-killers or anything else.
I do only care about myself… Why would I care about you? I can play something else… Modern warfare 3 is my usual game. I can leave matches just fine, and not have to worry about getting banned for leaving when I don’t have a choice…I don’t want to leave matches but I have to often. Unless you want elderly people getting injured, and dieing in the street…I will wait for a halo game where the developers make it so I can leave if I have to. As for Halo 4… Its going back to the store… I would have liked to keep this game… But 2 bad… ruined again…I hope they don’t mind losing customers… I would have also bought the DLC… 2 bad
If you quit out of a match here and a match there and got quit banned then I agree that would be bad. BUT the quit ban is in place and punishes people that abuse the quit option. If you get quit banned then you deserve it with how much you’ve quit out.
I don’t care… If I have to quit… I shouldn’t be penalized… I paid good money for this game… MW3 doesn’t have a problem with it… So thats what I’ll be playing… See you in another 2 years… Mabey

I can see how your situation would be frustrating. I’m assuming you are posting this because you have had the quit ban activate on you? If not I would keep the game for awhile and just quit as you need to and see what happens as you mentioned you enjoy it. It is my understand that it takes quite a few quits for it to kick in and hopefully you wouldn’t be affected by it.
Ok so because you quit you shouldn’t be penalized because you have important things to do… but the people playing should be penalized by you quitting?
I mean thats essentially what you are saying… If there is no penalty for quitters then we end up with the people who do stay whole games suffering because a game never has full parties
The game cant make a decision on what is and isnt a justifiable reason for quitting so we have to deal with a quit ban.
Honestly if you are doing something where you have to quit so often…an hour ban shouldnt be that big of a deal…

You don’t sound caring, meaning, you don’t sound fit for the elderly.
Topics like this are always reliable ways to tell who the, let’s say undesirables, of the community are.

In Reach, it gave you a warning message, and if you offended again while on probation you would get a 10 minute suspension from MM.
In halo 4? Instant 60 minute ban, no warning. You’d think a game that encourages quitting (JiP) would have a lower penalty, or at least a warning. Not to mention the terrible networking (what kind of idiot would stay in a game where everyone is teleporting and you’re being shot through walls?)

I have not been banned yet for quitting early. I just won’t keep a game that doesn’t put their customers first! I take care of the elderly because it’s my job-- not because I care genius. I’m sure your probably a welfare case so you don’t now about jobs huh? I’m not quitting because I want to… I quit when I have to help a tenant into there apartment. I’m sick of how you people on here twist words, and act self richeous. You think your smart but YOUR NOT! By the way I’m not overreacting, I’m just not making any more compromises with you people.
