This would probably affect the war in ridiculous ways, or turn it’s outcome as to whoever gets the better semblance wins. Space combat could change too, as piloting and customization of ships to work specifically with their captain and his/her semblance. Although, ground battles will be interesting but I feel the war could have ended as early as during Wars with this, as unless Forge or Red Team would have ridiculous semblances, we’d basically be making Ripa’s rage ability in multiplayer canon…
Using highly customised equipment on a large scale during a war?
Ressource wise not so clever.Better massproduce everything you can.

True. But maybe for a few special cases such as a gift for service, like for Thel or any prestigious soldier. Or said soldier were to experiment.
Honestly, the problem with semblances is that they’re most useful in CQB, against a few opponents. Its great if you can run real fast, but its not going to save you from a kilometer-wide plasma beam coming down from above to burn your skin from your bones. So it probably wouldnt change it up MUCH, other than, maybe, making certain people far more deadly than they already are.
This is honestly why the “RWBY vs. Halo” arguments that occasionally come up in my various sub-forums and Discord chats usually end with “the UNSC has Spartans”. Most of the fights in RWBY could be avoided or ended quickly with the proper application of military force. Considering the Human-Covenant War was basically a whole bunch of very big military force applications…

Which is why I’m interested to see how much damage a semblance can do in a proper military. I’m not here to dispute how much it would affect the story but rather to speculate how a battle with added variables would play out.

Not much still. Haven’t yet found one that can save your butt from massed artillery fire or concentrated assault rifle spam.

True, true. But then again, not much in Halo could save you from a flamethrower, and especially not a magic one.

How about not getting in range and kill the wielder with artillery?
Or if you want it more directly:Burn the other one with the Halo flamethrower before he can burn you.
More serious I think the an UNSC flametrooper has a pretty good chance of winning as their armor is supposed to withstand flames to a certain degree.

Shame that lore doesn’t extend to the games, the amount of times I suicided with the firebomb. In all seriousness, I feel like in military vs military proper, then Halo is very likely to overpower RWBY, as if we’re making the laws of both worlds mix, then the already dangerous Spartans and Elites get even stronger. Space engagements, Halo wins, no question, but ground battles are interesting, as if we’re not making this universe vs universe and made faction vs faction, then basically it evolve from UNSC/Covenant vs Atlas or something to UNSC vs Covenant vs RWBY military and possibly vs Grimm as they’re attracted to negativity. More you kill, more hate builds and conflict is a natural Grimm magnet. I’m not here to debate Halo vs RWBY but rather what would happen if the two worlds collide. with every existing faction having their own agenda.

But based on what I know, the UNSC and or the Covenant would probaly figure out where those Grimms come from, nuke said place and proceed with wathever they did previously

I doubt they’d find it, an immortal being hasn’t. Although, if they did, I’m thinking they’ll try to manipulate the Grimm. Another addition to the Covenant would benefit them, especially if said addition is produced endlessly with no need for procreation.

Of course it would benefit them but Im pretty sure at some point the covenant start to fear them and tries to wipe them out.

Wiping them out seems to be impossible, as I’ve watched the entirety of RWBY and the ongoing season and it seems Grimm popping up is a natural thing. Like their spawn points literally pop up because negativity. The only way I see the Grimm being dealt with is if the Flood get one to gain their knowledge about birth and other Grimm forms. Flood becomes another variable and a problem like the Grimm albeit a lot worse as a corruption.

What I can see happens is that the humans and the UNSC team up against the covenant.
What would be interesting is how the Faunas work in this all.
Would they team up with the UNSC/humans or with the covenant, granted that the covenant dont sees them as just some human subspecies and also want to wipe them out along all other humans.

I feel you’re correct in the UNSC side, but the Covenant won’t just fight that United front without their own advantage. As we’re giving everyone from both universes semblances, battles will be far more intriguing in outcome. Well, I feel the Covenant will not allow themselves to just throw troops at the enemy carelessly. They could very well use the Grimm to start the attacks and mop up or finish the rest. They wouldn’t care, as Grimm are mindless beasts attracted to negativity. Stealth attacks and small scale engagements will cause doubt and such attract Grimm, giving a free wall breaker. Faunus are interesting, as they won’t listen to Adam anymore, and both sides are favorable for them as large powers. Adam will act on pride, Salem and her crew will act for revenge and will rid of anyone who stands between them and Ozpin. It’ll depend on tactics and what side recruits or works with who.
Oh we went from RWBY semblances to the UNSC invading Remnant?
Oh, now we’re talking.

Funny how you say that then there’s an extended period of silence. This is gonna become like one of those Halo vs Star Wars threads isn’t it?
