If Halo 4’s engine is based off of Reach’s engine, then does that mean that Halo 4’s frame rate will suck? I truly hope not. I’m playing Reach’s campaign right now, and that’s what made me think of it.
And reach’s is based of 3’s, and that is based of 2’s and that is based off ce’s.
It isnt dont worry , the engine is being totally remaked and will have a hole new gameplay .
Halo 4’s engine is a modified Reach engine, but that means absolutely nothing.
Halo Reach used a modified Halo 3 engine, Halo 3 used a modified Halo 2 engines, and Halo 1 used a modified Halo 1 engine. Hell, most game engines are built on top of the original Quake engine in some form or another.
It’s not what the engine use to be that matters, it’s what the game developers have done to enhance and modify it.

^This.
And OP, the frame-rate only went down a significant amount when there were a lot of animations taking place in a relatively small area.
