If Halo 4 isn’t “like” Halo 2 I will not buy, I’m sick of getting my hopes up for halo title that I think is going to be great. Halo 3 was alright but nothing compared to Halo 2 and Reach’s mp = “what were they thinking” moment…
Halo 2 - Ranking System.
Halo 2 - Skill! I mean actually mastering the games Mp were no one could kill you.
Halo 2 - Gameplay.
I for one want Halo 4 to play EXACTLY like Halo 4, nothing else
copying things, I find 2 problems with this popular argument:
1: it’s not new.
if you play just a re-amped version of an old game, nothing is new, NOTHING, it will feel boring, everyone will slowly fade away from the game as there is nothing NEW to keep them interested.
2: The community will complain too much about it
unless you make the same game, there will be new things in it, whether it be a graphics overhaul, or some new weapons, or SOMETHING, people will complain about it.
just look at the Hemorrhage map in Reach, people have been asking for a remake of Blood Gulch, and they got it.
how did they treat it?
terribly, they complained that it didn’t play exactly 100% to the original
and that’s what they’ll do if 343 remade Halo 2, or Halo 3.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. I played Halo WITHOUT Glitches. Less Skillful than Halo: CE are you serious?

Blood Gulch doesnt work with Halo Reach Gameplay thats why.

What does that have to do with the ranking system?
Denying that glitches took skill is idiotic, regardless of whether or not they were cheating. The quad shot is probably the single most skill intensive action in Halo. Period.

Halo 2 made Xbox live. Not Halo 3, Halo Reach is an example of to much improvement… look were it is today… 75,000 people play it a day wow… that’s a lot of people.

Who legitimately got to the higher echelon of ranks? Barely anyone. Most of those with ranks nearing that of 50 were mostly hackers.
Cheating isn’t a skill to me. I’ll cede that point since this is a point of contention within a fanbase.

Not to knock Halo 2 because it was an amazing game. But the bullet magnetism was pretty crazy. It could be lowered however, problem solved. No more swipe sniping or melee lunging somebody you’re facing away from. Oh yeah and dumb down the green gun so it doesn’t follow you around corners, seriously in Halo 2 that thing would track you to a different state even if you took 3 different buses and a cab to get away. But aside from all of that I do hope 343i brings Halo 4 back to its roots a little bit. Not a carbon copy of H2 or H3, but a resemblance of them will work.

Again, that has nothing to do with the actual ranking system or whether or not it would be a good fit for Halo 4. The banhammer is a lot better now as well. (I got to level 40 legit and faced people up to level 45 who were legit)
Look, I am not denying that they were glitches and didn’t belong in Halo, but you literally can not say they didn’t take skill. The very definition of skill makes it true that they were skillful. That is all I’m saying.
Dude GET OVER IT! Even if H4 goes back to how Halo 2 was which I doubt the next games are sure to change as significantly as the previous games have. Just move on.
Halo 4 just needs to have an incentive to win. I play loads of Starcraft, and each map has a signature way of how you play it. I remember in Halo 2 Matchmaking when random players that met up for a game knew how to play a map. Recently, especially in Reach, it just seems like players run around and have no idea what is going on.
If players have a reason to win the game, it makes everything more competitive and makes the player WANT to win. This was the most fun part about Halo 2. You could be playing matchmaking with a team of complete randoms and they actually tried to work together to win.
