Think back to classic halo 2 and 3. Did those games have Armor Lock? No. Is there a negative correlation with Halo: Reach? YEAH NO POOP.
I don’t know if Halo 4 should evolve on a giant scale but it definitely needs some flavor that adds spice that keeps the fans interested while grabbing new players also.
Armor Lock completely destroys the fundamentals of Halo. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been just about to kill someone, they go into armor lock, and their teammate kills me because my focus is elsewhere. No I’m not bad at Halo. No I don’t need to adjust to dealing with armor lock. Armor lock needs to leave the Halo series. At least from multiplayer.
The 6 second delay button needs to die. It’s not Halo. If 343i says that they are going back to what made halo, halo. Then they know that armor lock is not what made halo, halo.
I really did not mind it that much. But, I agree that it would be better to leave it out of multiplayer because it does really slow gameplay. And if it has to stay make it like 2 seconds long so its only purpose is to survive a rocket launcher, etc if timed right.

Here let me rephrase your plea:
Think back to classic Halo. Did that game have Dual Wielding? No. Is there a negative correlation with Halo 2? YEAH NO POOP.
I don’t know if Halo 3 should evolve on a giant scale but it definitely needs some flavor that adds spice that keeps the fans interested while grabbing new players also.
Dual Wielding completely destroys the fundamentals of Halo. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been just about to kill someone, they go dual wield a Plasma Rifle and SMG and their teammate kills me because my focus is elsewhere. No I’m not bad at Halo. No I don’t need to adjust to dealing with armor lock. Dual Wielding needs to leave the Halo series. At least from multiplayer.

In halo you gotta find those weapons to have an advantage. You dont spawn with dual wields. But you spawn with armor lock. That was a terrible comparison
I’d love to see most of the armor abilities make an appearance again, including armor lock. However, it’s not a make it or break it issue for me. I agree that it is frustrating when trying to kill a player and they’re simply waiting for somebody to rescue them, but I also feel that the protect from and threat to vehicles outweighs this. Not to mention fun melee time

I’m calling -Yoink- on this. Give me a quote where he said this. I want proof. Frankie wouldn’t be stupid enough to bring back Armor Lock.
Just because people dont like a small feature of a past game, doesnt mean you have to fear it being in halo 4. This isnt CoD, where there had to be TWO games until the devs removed Juggernaught. I dont get why you say “I dont want this in halo 4” when you really mean “I want this next halo reach to have AL taken out”.
Seriously, its a halo reach feature. So why are you worrying about them putting it in a different game?
While I agree with the topic, I really feel you could have approached this better. I’d suggest not just stating that AL works against basic mechanics, but provide examples. I.E.- AL is a combat based ability. This means that some players have an upper hand in combat, providing an uneven battlefield.

I get what you’re trying to do but its not working. AL almost ruined halo and cause thousands of people to play cod, gears, or battlefield, dual wielding did not.

Do you seriously believe that Armor Lock is the reason for the popularity of COD, GOW, or Battlefield? That’s crazy. People who play those games are obviously looking for a kind of gaming experience that quite clearly just isn’t Halo. To blame Halo for not having more players in such a competitive environment would be wrong, especially when the games are as different as they are. The truth is that Halo is Halo. Fans will stick around, and others may or may not. If I could suffer through a few years of Halo 3, I think any Halo fan can find something to like about Halo 4.

Seems you weren’t around for Halo 2. Dual wielding most certainly did drive people away. As did hijacking, melee weapons and replacing the magnum and AR… Thing is back then, they had nowhere else to go. There was Halo or Starwars, so they always came back. Now there’s many more popular games out. Halo, CoD, GoW, and more being released every week.
