Do you think this will bring back the playerbase? Even in MCC with a custom games browser, i still prefer playing ranked and the other slayer playlists. Do you guys think it will be enough to restore infinite?

It certainly won’t bring back enough of the playerbase for it to really matter. They’ll never really recover the ground they’ve already lost.

I don’t think it will have a problem bringing players back, but if it has issues as the rest of the entire game does. It won’t take long at all for most to drop this game like a bad habit.

Much like how it was when it dropped in MCC, its nice to have, it certainly fills out the game better, but itll go unused by the majority of the playerbase.
Halo 5 got some pretty good attention with the forge world, but for me I couldn’t stand the lighting issues it had that it actually made me stop using it. I created one map because that is all I could stand.
It will help the game for sure. Even if you don’t use Forge/Customs, the ideas, maps, and game modes will bleed into the other playlists over time. It really depends on how Forge launches.
The effects of Forge also probably won’t be immediately felt by players, so expect a lot of disappointed posts in the beginning. Infinite will at some point be the game we all expected, but it’s going to be a long and slow burn all the way up until that moment though.
Even with a successful launch for Forge, I still don’t see record numbers of players crawling back to Infinite. They didn’t leave in the first place because of just no Forge, it was the lack of pretty much a little of everything else.
And no doubt Forge will be advertised as “NEW THINGS!” “NEW NARRATIVE/EVENT!” “MORE GAMETYPES!” yadda yadda yadda. It won’t take long before players realize this stuff in Forge has to first be built and second be experimented on lol then those eager beaver players will leave Infinite again after they watch their one or two random narrative cutscenes.
This couldn’t have been said better. Thank you. Forge isn’t fast, it’s days, weeks sometimes years for the PERFECT map. Players will come back sure, but they won’t hit the same levels they had at launch again in a long time if ever again? I hope the latter isn’t true.
If AI are in forge and they consistently introduce more vehicles and weapons mods and armors and ways to consistently edit the game modes then we will see a smaller rise.
But again that top statement couldn’t be more true. “This ain’t like Fortnite buildin’ son…”
You can’t build a palace in a seconds. You need to be precise with each block, every alley. Spawning, zones, flags, ammo drops, weapon placement, terrain, lighting, SIZE.
all of this and more goes into building a map worthy of MP on large scales. Even duck hunt is a one or two day build up
Its gonna be like taking a shower after 6 months dude, the qmount of content that people are instantly going to make is gping to be insane seeing halo 5’s forge. It always gets better with forge (exept halo 4’s flood ruining infection gamemodes) and the games get better. It’s going to be a second but good 343.
Yes, a better forge than ever. Like the ultimate potential of a forge in Halo and a good custom games browser will definitively bring Halo players back. But a battle royale will most likely bring in the numbers.
Custom browser and Forge won’t do jack diddly for Infinite unless 343 fixes all the custom game issues first.

but also inb4 they lock forge items behind microtransactions with some cheesy corpo-speak about how this’ll help taylor the experience for players or something
It will bring a good chunk of old fans back, but not the ones who wanted to check out Infinite as a new product. I’m a firm believer that they will need to do a full relaunch like MCC in order to bring people back to this game.
To even think that forge won’t be full of issues and bugs and them actually iron any of that out quick is insane.
theatre is still pretty much useless.
coming out with new content isnt gunna help bring ppl back for very long when its all broke…
I hope so but, Forge is not going to be any good without a Custom Game Browser!
