If elites are in halo 4-i fear for how they will look...

If you ask me, the elites were perfect in the original trilogy, the new graphics with each game made them more detailed, and yet still the same at the core.

reach changed it, waaaay too much for my liking. i don’t like all the fancy armour for enemies, and i think they just look strange and too “alien” to what we were first taught to what elites look like.

i miss when the days of enemy ranks were determined by what colour it was. i mean we all knew what a zealot was in halo 1+2 from the gold armour. now we have a fancy red and pruple thing with antenni on it’s head. the grunts were perfect in halo 3, but i think reach took it a little overboard on grunt designs. i mean they are afetr all, just basic, expendable, infantry. so why have all the fancy armour?

it just won’t make sense to me if they keep the reach designs and update them for halo 4. i think they should go back to the roots of the first trilogy and update their models for the elites and the other species. flood should go back to halo 1+2 though, pure forms didn’t make sense canocally.

reach designs < Halo 1+2+3 designs.

they should however keep ALL weapons created, and bring back some classic vehicles to be usable!

The entire design of the Elites in Reach was based on “getting back” to their look and difficulty in Halo CE, so this post makes no sense to me. Also, Elites still have color rankings in Halo: Reach. They also have armor rankings like in Halo 2.

Notice that elites in halo’s 1, 2, and 3 all have the same armour for campaign. in all 3 games the rank was determined by colour:

Minor-Blue
Major-Red
Ultra-White/Silver
Spec ops-Black
Zealot-Gold
Invisible (halo 1+2)-light blue

Reach changed it. it changed the well know colours into something totally different, and just changed the armour for everything. i’ve got nothing against reach, i still love it, but i feel they went a little too far.

Halo 2 had it perfect. the same armour for all “Army” units (Minor, Major, Ultra, and Zealot) and have different armour for truly specialised classes (Honour guard, councilor) and had the colours that were easily recognisable, so you knew what you were staring at.

Reach decided to go weird with armour (i mean common, zealot and field marshal are almost the exact same!) and complety changed colours, and that i didn’t like. i mean there must be others that miss the gold on zealots, the white on ultras (not that pink and silver) and the blue on invis (brown/pink in reach).

it wouldn’t make sense for halo 4 to follow this trend reach has created, because reach is a prequel. it should update the halo 3 stuff and stick to what was nailed down in core designs.

Please 343i, no OTT armour, keep it simple, but stylish and effective-but easily identifiable!

Plus, Elites are supposed to be alien…

They’re aliens.

Halo 2 Elites were perfect.

Halo4 will be a sequel to Halo3, not Halo Reach.

The Elites in Halo: Reach had bulkier armor (especially for the Zealots) than in the original trilogy, as well as a more animalistic portrayal but in my opinion, that visual aspect only enhanced and emphasized a constant theme throughout the franchise: Elites are -Yoinking!- dangerous.

And just as lethal as Spartans, which was hinted when a Zealot overpowered Six.

I’d take it over Master Chief-effortlessly-wrecking-Sangheili with a pistol any day.

I’ll take anything besides the super hunched over Elites in Halo 3.

well dude, i’m sorry to say they look worse MUCH WORSE.
now they’re dinosaurs with singlets

The Major looks pretty cool.

The Minor looks like -Yoink!-

Well here’s how I think they should make them look: http://halo.xbox.com/Forums/yaf_postst73075_Time-to-refresh-the-elite-343.aspx

Well, I don’t know what to say. I did like the old look more, I agree with that definitely (even though the new one isn’t that bad, except for the hands).

But there is a possibility that these Elites seen in the pictures are just a group of Elites like the Heretics. Maybe the (let me call them)“real ones” still have the same armor… With MOAR detail!

I love how the elites look in H4.

I personally think I prefer them over the Reach design

Reach’s elites were the worst.

THE WORST.

They had it perfect right here, they looked mean, but also civalized with their shiny and clean look, they looked like proud warriors, they were tall and slim, but now look down here, they just look like mean killing machines that have no soul and will kill you at eye contact.
Their new armor looks weird because they have huge -Yoink- feet, the minors helmet looks like -Yoink-, and they dont even have wrist armor, and theyre hunched over, i personally think they should redesign their armor, but it may be to late already.

To be honest i really wish that the Halo Reach Elites where the main Elites for every Halo game ( and this one ). That armor gave every rank variety and made them more unique, why does everyone hate Elite Armors in Halo Reach?

So you say the aliens look too “alien” and that all enemies should look the same, but be differentiated by their color.

No thanks.

Agreed, its to late to make a scary, horror look to the Elites.
