If Dr. Disrespect Was The Reason For HI Getting A Battle Royale Mode

It’s incredibly stupid. What can we do though? He’s a very successful streamer, a celebrity. What are we? Commoners. We don’t get a say. We don’t matter. Only celebrities get to speak out and be called the voice. If we go against a battle royale mode, the devs won’t listen. They’ll ignore us and add it anyway because some big shot said so.

I hate what Call of Duty and Fortnite have done, and that was popularizing streamers. They also ruined other games. There’s nothing we can do. 343 should reconsider adding a battle royale and just focus on fixing the game.

While I agree 343 needs to fix a lot of things. I know i personally would love a Halo battle royale. Infinite has all the core mechanics for one already. The only thing its missing is the map.

That said give us working Co op, forge, and a few more maps and modes first then give us a BR. Also didn’t 343 outsource the development of Infinite’s BR to another studio so it really shouldn’t be eating up any of their time.

Certain Affinity is working on the BR. Not 343. So nothing is being delayed because of that.

Battle Royale wouldn’t work in Halo. The supposed balance of weapons and wehicles means you’d constantly be trading kills. Just like the current system in LSS.

People think Battle Royale can get slapped into any game and it’ll be a success. People sometimes just don’t know what they’re talking about.

It would definitely work in Halo. You already have shields and health, a revive mechanic, weapons on the map, vehicles, and a circle that closes. Besides people saying they don’t like BRs there is no evidence to say it won’t work.

Halo as an arena shooter is already closer to a BR than other games that have implemented and it worked there so yeah it will definitely work in Halo.

I’m going to assume that their marketing strategy is a little more indepth than watching what a few streamers say. It doesn’t take a nerd with a twitch account to tell you that BR is what’s popular currently.

Apex, PUBG, Fortnite, Warzone, have been some of the most popular games in the last few years. You can’t really blame a company for designing a product meant to meet what’s in high demand.

I also disagree that a BR mode wouldn’t work with Halo. You’re kind of judging something that doesn’t even exist yet. LSS kind of sucks right now but there’s a few elements in it that I think could make for a pretty fun BR mode if broadened to a bigger map and made for duo or trio teams.

They’ve kinda had that sentiment for awhile now. They tried to give access to popular streamers and let them I guess…hype it up. Most streamers…like even the ranked focused streamers always have way more viewership than known players amongst pro players. Not that the game has to be catered to that end but with most popular streamers its like they’re all attributes in 1.

  • some kind of character
  • big following so devs probably feel compelled to get their thoughts on stuff even if they aren’t OG fans that have stuck by halo all these years.
  • play all game modes, but also have a decent set of thumbs for the sweaty stuff too.

Imho…i can care less about LSS or a BR mode if the staple modes are missing man. Like give us what we expect from our halo, and let the new stuff be the icing on the cake. The core fans should be taken into consideration because they’re always day 1 players. They’re always excited because they know what the word halo means…they’re also the ones that will feed SO much content into a custom games browser when forge is out…and without a doubt spark MANY new game modes to into existence…

When the game comes out bone dry…then they ask…is this really halo? Is it just…a work in progress for the next X amount of years? Etc etc. So many leave and come back…and unless you got a good group of friends to play with…it feels less and less enticing to play when every game session is a mixed bags of emotions. A lot of people probably log off in a sour mood I bet. Questioning why they booted it up in the first place.

I dont think anyone cares about new modes being added…the more the better. Its just that when those are added before some very basic staple modes we’ve all come to not only love and enjoy…but EXPECT…then thats a problem.

If there is a battle royale coming I don’t think it’s gonna be from 343i. They already can’t handle a standard Halo mp so I can’t see them also taking on a BR which has been proven to require entire studios 24/7 attention if you look at games like Fortnite and CoD. If 343i made a BR, they wouldn’t be able to continue making the arena game unless they created an entire new studio within the 343i umbrella that was pretty fair in size and solely focused on the BR.

What I have noticed over the years, and I don’t care how “popular” any streamer is, 99.99% of the time they only care about themselves and end up supporting a companies poor business model that looking out for the best interest of a game and the player base is almost none-existent.

They actually do more harm than good when it comes to a games structure.

Infinite is not a Halo game, it’s 343 taking CoD, Fortnite, Zelda mashing it all together, better known as a Frankenstein forcing their business model on the player base. The truth is, if any streamer is supporting this mess, it’s going to make the experience for player that care about a quality type of game miserable. Hint’s to why the player base continues to drop off.

we need a warzone game mode similar to battlefield not battle royal

I don’t agree with this because Halo defiantly allows you to have an upper hand by how you play and making strategic movements. I think Halo would thrive and would produce probably one of the best Battleroyals but I do think we should have all the major problems fixed and make changes that the main player base wants. Which they are making changes but it’s a slow process.
Battle Royale should be an almost relaunch kinda feel with ads and etc but it should be released Nov. 2023.

If warzone is anything to remember halo wont last as long treyarch and infinity ward both have bigger dev teams that actually know the old code. And they took months to fix their cheating problem halo will be done within a few months if they add that battle royal all because some old call of duty dev said they should? Why so he actually has relevance to play the game? Honestly after the entire twitch fiasco im surprised hes even still relevant because i know ninja isnt

343i is not developing Tatanka, which has been in development longer than Dr. Disrespect’s hullabaloo.

All I know is that if 343 can’t even fix Desync, bad UI, and server inconsistencies, how on earth are they gonna bring a quality BR experience to a match with 70 - 100 players?

If people in a 24 man match are already suffering inconsistencies, how are 70 - 100 players gonna feel? 343’s leadership is biting off more than they can chew, and this is when they have allergies to the food they’re eating too.

They’re not developing it.

Do y’all ever read?

I believe Certain Affinity is the dev on deck for Tatanka.

Its still running on the same engine and net code.

Unless you think certain affinity is fixing infinite’s engine too.

Nah.

The BR Mode is coming around because 343 is copying Fortnite’s business model onto Halo Infinite.

  • Free-to-play PvP experience with minimal variety
  • Full-Price PvE storymode that is incomplete at launch
  • Overpriced cosmetic items that rotate weekly through the shop.
  • Battlepass
  • Forge is being released post-launch instead of being part of the game at the start.

All that was left is the BR mode and build-battling.

Your source providing this detail about a project that hasn’t been publicly revealed past it’s codename, my gamer?

He’s not the only one who said it. Far from the only one in fact.

He must be doing something right if he has a load of followers.

They have released a classic multiplayer mode and have committed to dropping content for it. Not like they began by dropping the core stuff. Just, they have various issues…

Sure, a streamer can be wrong and take the game in a bad direction. :wink:For example, I suspect that the campaign was influenced by some of the YouTubers Halo 5 hate. To hell with the narrative, world building and structural problems of retconning a major event and killing off Cortana; we have to please this corner of the internet. It’s like having a group of lobbyists in Parliament who have an ultimately harmful agenda. I digress, but I get the point. I just don’t think Dr Disrespect is as much of a problem for potentially bringing a Battle Royale mode in.

We don’t even know if this is the same game. I heard Tatanka was on the Unreal Engine. Given all the problems they had with a 4x4 arena I can’t see how they can magically get a hundred player BR mode to work.
