If Desync does not get fixed then the Battle Royal is not going to save Halo Infinite.

Do you think 343i is honest with themselves internally?

If Desync is still a massive issue with the release of the Battle Royal all of the players who have spent a year+ complaining about the inconsistent combat are just going to highlight it for the ‘broader audience’ who comes to check the mode out.

Would player base from any game with a better reward system, progression system, combat system, frequent updates that have content etc. Ever really stick around for the Halo Infinite experience?

If 343i would be honest with themselves and the community they would acknowledge the problems with Desync and admit that it is something Halo Infinite is stuck with.
That would sink the mass market Battle Royal but that is going to fail anyway if Desync is not corrected. The game is just not to the standard of its competitors.

What it would allow them to do is start producing content for Halo Infinite instead of whatever they are working on for the Battle Royal. Halo Infinite needs content now and frequently. The fans keeping the game alive deserve better then having to wait for an attempt by 343i to regain the mass market. They need to start valuing the dedicated fans and giving them a game worth supporting.

If they keep wasting resources on a Battle Royal that is destined for failure all that is going to happen is they burn the mass market again with another janky release.
How many times can they pull in 20mil users only to have 19.9 mil be disgusted with the product. A free product. Before the IP is known to be a lost cause and the studio along with it.

343i think the fans already hate them so that they need to chase the ‘broader audience’ but if they keep burning that audience by the multi-millions then they will always be left with nobody.

Criminally underappreciated post. There’s no way a Battle Royale could be more than an empty promise if they can’t get their netcode to work.

Not to throw shade at Certain Affinity, though. Those guys know what they’re doing ;]
