So we know that that Halo 5 will be taking a darker route, but what if Chief dies at the end of the game? Will you still be playing Halo after his death?
Honestly, I will probably be turned off from Halo… I cant imagine a universe without Chief. :(. Also I’m thinking Bungie will probably secretly get mad that 343i just killed off their iconic character they built up from the ground up lol even though the IP is no longer theres.
I doubt Bungie will care, they’re too busy raking in the cash from Destiny.

Chief isn’t going to die in Halo 5, that’s already been confirmed quite a few times.

I’d still play. The Halo universe is more than 117. Now if they try to put Locke in his place, then I’ll wait and see. I despise Locke and that s**t storm show he was in.

It will be hard to be as interested as I’ve always loved playing as Chief but ODST and Reach were fun to play without him so maybe it won’t be so difficult to play without him. (343 please don’t kill him though haha)
I agree, the universe is bigger than the Chief, but in all honestly, i dont want to see him killed off… he could come back in the other forms such as audio logs or something but not as the main protagonist imo. He should just retire and help train the new spartan’s train or something lol.
Halo started with Chief but it doesn’t mean it can’t run without him, Halo is rich of Stories to tell, See Reach or ODST or Halo Wars for example nowhere is the chief and it worked very well.
Chief does need to die eventually. IMO, the story will grow stale if he never dies and live s unrealistically long. But it would suck to lose such an iconic hero.

I can agree, but i think not through halo 5/6 or whatever… maybe through comics or something…

Yes, there are hundreds of colonies, over eight hundred, and they all have stories to tell. There were hundreds of battles in the Human-Covenant War and we’ve only gotten mentions of some of them. We don’t need Chief to make Halo Halo. He can die and the universe will go on being Halo.
I mean look at Halo 3. Yes, he lived but he was basically dead to the galaxy. Lost in space after a collapsing jump from a location outside the Milky Way? Yeah because it’ll be easy to find the ship that went through that. For four years the universe thought Chief was dead yet stories continued. We saw three more Halo games until Halo 4 that were amazing and didn’t star Chief at all.

Well nobody really knows how long Spartans live naturally, if he doesn’t die in battle he could probably live for a very long time.
Chief isn’t Halo you know. The universe is much bigger than one character. It’s like saying you wont watch Star Wars if they kill off Luke in episode 7.
I definitely still play. The absence of the Chief didn’t stop me from playing Reach or ODST. That being said, I’m hoping Halo 5 makes me like Locke because right now I’m not sold on him as a character, and I’m assuming we’ll be stuck with him if/when the Chief departs.
I’ll still play because custom games. Nuff said.
