I would want Emile to Shoot Carter, Killing him. Then Emile Goes rogue.
lmfao what this makes no sense, and doesn’t fit the purpose of the story.
It would have been cool if Carter had hijacked the Scarab and used it to Halo Noble team, and was killed in a fight with another Scarab.
What if just drowns? I don’t know he died a leader because he was a leader. He died doing what he loved doing.
Carter deserves an honorable death, another self sacrificing death. Seeing him sacrifice himself would leave the same impression so if he were to distract the enemy AA batteries by flying above them, distracting them and allowing the Cortana fragment to escape.

I probably wouldn’t want him killed off. I’d want him to transfer to the Spartan-IVs and be a Fireteam leader.
I don’t like to talk about “what ifs” when it comes to Halo Reach, because in my mind it was truly a work of art by far the best Halo game. But the first thing hat came to mind was he survived with Noble 6 to the end, and the cut scene shows you and him fighting the countless waves of Covenant… until you die. Preferably him before you.
