I’ll be honest, while the Brute Plasma Rifle MAY function differently from the default one, it’s a reskin by nature and fails to fit the savage theme of the Jiralhanae. The Spiker is, in my opinion, a better Brute automatic than the BPR will ever be.
I’d much rather have the BPR’s mechanics exist in the default PR along with the CE mechanics (assuming that returns).

Why would you want the PR to do less damage per shot, fire quicker, and overheat faster, while also wanting it to be semi-auto and stun? I would think that the Halo 2 PR with the stun mechanic would be good enough.

My bad, I had the mechanics for the weapons switched around. I thought it was the BPR that fired slower than the default one.
Still my point remains that the Brute Plasma Rifle is very redundant and the Spiker is a far superior weapon.

Agreed. I don’t care if the Spiker remains inaccurate, so long as the PR goes back to being accurate like in Halo CE and 2.
Andy, you are correct about Brutes being savage and all, but the Brute Plasma rifle is actually a complete show of brute brutality, so I don’t know how you countered your own opinion…

The Spiker (or nail gun) is old tech, where once they joined the covenant they used their NEW technology and modified elite rifles to suit their own brutal needs.
I’d take a BPR any day over a Spiker, however in any halo games with brutes, it would be great having both weapons in it like ODST to create that sense of variety and add a large arsenal of weapons to use…

I think the RED Plasma Rifle will be the Skin of the Standard Plasma Rifle, IF the Plasma Rifle itself returns, which i hope for. Alongside that, I hope the Spiker, and Spike Grenades return as Loadout Weapons. With Ords, I definitely hope for the Brute Shot.

Are you kidding me? The Spiker is much more brutal in appearance than the BPR. I think a mounted blade, massive semi-molten projectiles and a barrel that glows red in heat is FAR more brutal than a Plasma Rifle that fires faster and has a red coat.

Actually, other way around.
During most of their time in the Covenant, the Jiralhanae were forced to utilize Sangheili arsenel rather than developing their own. The Brute Plasma Rifle was merely just showing the progressive transition from Sangheili technology to Jiralhanae technology.
In short, the BPR is the technological bridge between the Plasma Rifle and the new models of the Spiker.

I’ll be completely honest, I think I prefer the Concussion Rifle over the Brute Shot. It just looks more elegant.
However, having the Halo 2 Brute Shot return as a complementary weapon to the CR would be quite welcomed in my mind.
I’m with Riot Rojas on this one. It’d make a great skin.
I’d love to see all the bladed Brute weapons return. There’s a lot of assassination potential there.

I’d love for the Brute Plasma Rifle to return. At the very least, it should be in Custom Games and Forge. It’s an old favourite of mine.
