I’m not saying in any way that Halo 5 is a bad game… but what I do believe, is that if another developer (maybe Certain Affinity) was to take a shot at making a Halo game… and kept the changes minimum, and took out “Spartan Abilities,” it would be a fantastic game. I honestly think someone like Max Hoberman (multiplayer lead in Halo 1 and 2) understands how Halo should not be changed to seem more like other games. Just my opinion.
Valve probably.
Certainly not Bungie. Not by a mile. But that’s gonna be a popular answer.
…they would make it a lot worse than 343 Industries. Halo 4 was 343i’s first game, so imagine what a third party that knows nothing about Halo would do with their first game.
And by the way, Certain Affinity DESIGNED Halo 4’s multiplayer Infinity mode. They made sprinting, loadouts, and ordnance.

Certain Affinity in no way influenced sprinting-loadouts-ordnance. That was 343i. Certain Affinity was hired on to make maps and game modes, that’s it.

False.
Halo 4 was originally a Tradition Halo game, but 343 decided it was too “boring” or whatever and they needed the flare and whatnot to keep people interested because people are more interested in “modern” games with mechanics like Sprint and whatnot. Hence why they are doing it again with H5. Certain Affinity will never be in charge of 343’s games. Certain Affinity worked on Maps for Reach, H4, and H2A, and also did a number of things for H2A, but not H4. That was all 343. Hence why Kevin Franklin and others have the title of “Multiplayer Design” He isn’t just sitting there getting paid to do nothing. Well, that would be better than what he is currently doing, which is getting paid to destroy Halo.
Lmao the fact that you guys think another team would take halo and justt do what bungie did. With out wanting to take the series to where they want to see it taken is naive and laughable. No one is gonna want to come in and try to beat bungie at their on game. They will so the same thing and take it where THEY want wether that includes sprint or not means so little.

I agree Halo needs innovation, you can’t make the same game as Bungie… I get it. All I’m saying is there could have been other, maybe more minor, innovations to keep the core experience more familiar. I suggested a company like Certain Affinity who is run by a guy (Max Hoberman) who has been dealing with Halo in one way or another since the beginning.

And Forge.
Bethesda maybe? I might like something along the lines of a BioWare-esque RPG set in Halo…that wasn’t just Mass Effect, of course.
Blah. Valve. We never would’ve gotten past Halo 2, but I can live with that. xD

Exactly.

Lol.
Hidden path/Turtle rock for MP.
Eidos Montreal/Remedy for SP.

You mean the company that has made almost as much content for previous Halo games as they do CoD games? They may have started with someone related to Halo and for halo, but they are not only associated with halo.
FYI, this thread is non-constructive because 1. It’s been posted tme and time again (like those sprint hating posts that appear every day) and 2. 343/MS are making halo. Not another dev. This is unrelated to Halo 5 (not going to swap developers), so it does not belong here.

You’re right… No one wants to take over an already established Multimillion Dollar franchise that already has the magic formula and just recreate it in a new engine for millions of dollars. Everyone wants to try and recreate something new to see if it will make millions of dollars instead of doing what has been proven to make the millions of dollars.
343 had the easiest job in the world and the completely screwed it up. All they had to do was make a Halo game. They had unlimited resources minus time. Instead of making the Halo game that people wanted to play, they made something that didn’t resemble Halo in the slightest and slapped the Halo name on it. Thus creating H4, which was terrible (no one can deny it, that’s why they didn’t include population counts in MCC). Point being is if you are going to take on a project that already has a solid base, don’t take that base away. Changing the entire core of Halo was their first mistake, and they refuse to acknowledge it and they will continue to lose sales and followers because of it.

Loll you do realize that halo 4s “resources” was the lastest halo game right? Butt noo every one loves to hate on 343 and halo 4 like it started this trend and completely ignore the fact that our beloved can do no wrong bungie sh*t bricks on their multimillion dollar franchise with features they wanted for their new franchise RIGHT before they left. You see it as the easiest job because truthfully you sound lazy and lack ambition wether 343 pointed theirs in the right direction or not. You think a team with as much passion and vision as valve would take halo and be like " let’s just do what bungie did" hell no they would put their valve stamp all over that baby. Just the way black tusk will do with gears of war. Why would you wanna be the team that took an already made franchise and rode its popularity to the bank and don’t even bother making it your own.

343 also had a parent company, Microsoft, that made being “just like Halo” sound like a bad thing when shown a campaign level by 343. With bosses like that can only imagine where the push towards modernization came from. It is like the SimCity debacle, where did the requirement for always online play come from? The developer or the publisher? No doubt some bad calls should go to the developer, but turning 343 into a scapegoat for all the problems with Halo recently isn’t very smart.
Old Bungie, or Turtle Rock for multiplayer.
Bioware for Campaign.
343 for Call of duty, they’re excellent at making games like that.

-Time and money are the highest priority resources for any capitalist venture. Less of either puts a huge strain on quality.
-Development is not an easy job. Look at Bungie: a working concept with the Halo titles, the “magic formula” they broke with Reach infected Destiny. Guess they weren’t great at their jobs? /sarcasm
-Already been said how MS was toward being just another Halo game (as if it was a bad thing)
-Despite all of this, Halo 4 was a multi-million dollar game (in scope and sales). So this defeats your point. Halo 5 will be another, whether the online community lasts or not. The MCC was as well, and even broken, and poorly received (only for the launch and broken mp, people everywhere rave about what works), it is better than many other games (most) in terms of sales and reception.
Face it: nothing about Halo being developed by another developer will change anything. And as it had been addressed earlier, it won’t be. So this thread (like all the others before it) is pointless. Where are the mods here?
