…they would release a new Halo 4 trailer QUICKLY. Take BF3 for example, BF3’s marketing campaign was basically ads where EA trashed on Activision, ie, BF3 vs. MW3. They’re marketing scheme was centered around making MW3 look like the inferior game compared to BF3, the slogan was even “Above and beyond the call”. BF3 sold very well, so if 343i wants a good way to get Halo 4 talked about they would make Treyarch and Black Ops II their MW3 and commence the trash talking NAO! C’mon 343, we would love a good ol’ throwdown between Halo 4 and Black Ops II!
CoD will sell more because it appeals to dumb kids (or dumber adults), but we can at least take pride in that we have the better game.

Agreed, but in a perfect world Halo 4 will outsell COD on the 360. If Halo 4 can accomplish that than that’s even better than outselling it as a whole.
Anyone else starting to get the feeling that 343 counted on something like this? I wonder just how they are going to capitalize on the opportunity. Might be some time for some Halo 3 level advertising.
BTW: I like your GT, King of the Hill is hilarious.
No. Halo needs to stay dark until E3 and then explode with a campaign and multiplayer trailer.

That’d be sweet. It’s been 2 months since the last trailer was released, and it’s still a month before E3, I think there’s time for just one more trailer…pretty please 343i, pretty please with a cherry on top!
Edit: THANK YOU! You have no idea how many people ask me about my GT on Live! Good to know someone else has a good taste in their animated shows, I tell you what!
You think the smart thing to do is make a trashtalk trailer. Seriously?
I’d rethink the remark that COD is where dumb kids accumulate.

I just got done playing some Search on Black Ops and I had to listen to a kid repeatedly ask, JOEY!, about a hundred times in 5 minutes. I proceeded to team kill him and -Yoink!- him so that I wouldn’t have to listen to him speak, and he sounded to be around 8 years old. So yes, COD is where dumb kids accumualte, very dumb ones.
I don’t think they should blatently talk trash to COD, but everytime COD does something, Halo 4 should be right there one upping it.
They should probably wait for E3 (it’s not that far away), because if they release one now you know SOMEONE will complain about something they see. Might as well enjoy the peace while it lasts.
Yeah, but everybody (smart) already realizes Halo is a far superior series than CoD.
No one should take anything from any of EA’s marketing strategies. EA is a blight on the video game industry, and no developer or publisher should take a page from their book.
Microsoft knows how to market Halo, so whatever path they follow will be a good one.

This, LOL, I remember The Consumerist named EA the WORST company in America, beating out Bank of America itself. EA is total -Yoink-, they have absolutely no customer appreciation and they just love Yoinking! out as many possible titles in a year.

Exactly. Their marketing is an insult the industry and only holds back what games could be. “Sin to Win”? “Your Mom Hates Dead Space”? What the hell, EA?
Then, we get the absolutely terrible “Origin” service. Again, wtf EA?
If Battlefield 3 did good, it was in spite of the marketing, not because of it.
No, if they wait, Blops2 will have more time to get their trailer to as many as possible.
This way, the internet, will be covered in viewers more constantly.
And more people will be online to see 343 humiliate Treyarch with their sure-to-be new trailer(s).
Luckily, E3 is placed at a very convenient time.
1 month should be enough time to get all the CoD fans nice and angry.
And when the new Halo 4 trailer(s) is released, everyone will see how bass Halo 4 is.
I think 343 predicted this, I now have complete faith in 343.

While I normally don’t get involved with circumstances surrounding Halo versus COD, I am going to with this one because there is a lesson to be learned here.
With regard to COD community and the games, their are things COD manages to accomplish Halo doesn’t do nearly as good. At one point, even Frank O Connor came forward and spoke the elements COD manages to pull off is something Halo could strive to accomplish and obviously surpass (you don’t aim to repeat what has been done, you aim to make it better and innovate it to your experience). As for the community, not all COD players are young in age. Not all of the community is like your making them sound. So please, if you cannot at least get to know them as a majority (on their forums at least), then please avoid making senseless comments like the one’s above, it doesn’t invite anything good. Thanks in advance.
There’s a major difference between BF3/ MW3 and Halo 4/BO2.
That difference being that EA was actively and publicly campaigning against Activision and Call of Duty. EA’s marketing scheme was focused on direct competition.
Halo 4 isn’t a direct competitor of Black Ops 2. They’re separate genre of games, have vastly different gameplay, and one’s a console exclusive.
Not to mention that every time a publisher/ developer openly admitted that their goal was to de-throne CoD, their product fell short a couple thousand feet. Homefront did it, Battlefield 3 did it.
Halo 4’s marketing campaign doesn’t need to be marketed against Call of Duty. Halo 4’s marketing campaign needs to advertise Halo 4 and Halo 4 alone, not that it’s trying to fight against Call of Duty which has billions of $ over it.

QFT, Microsoft does a excellent job marketing Halo in a way in which places you in the Haloverse and leaves you asking questions like “Whats going to happen next to MC??? Who is that girl in the flashback??” the perfect example being the H3 “Starry Nights” CGI trailer.
343 should wait till E3 to release any more H4 trailers.
But I would br happy with some more info on Infinity.
Man be tell us about some new gametypes and weapons.
That would leave me content.
I bet Ms and 343i got a massive marketing campaign ready, but they’ll wait until it’s closer to release, since people tend to forget really fast. “Halo 4, start a new fight”
Nah, I hope they’ll bring a better tagline at least ^^
I bet we’ll see marketing campaigns for Halo 4 world wide prior to release, campaign that will wash Blops 2 out of both TV and game magazines

I think the tagline for Halo 4 is “Wake Up John”.
Anyway, I can’t wait to see new live-action trailer series!
