If the next update (or the one after next) was nothing but bugfixes, would you be satisfied?
I love this game, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a fair share of frustration from bugs and unoptimization. I’ll sometimes experience framedrops in Forge without any budgets being exceeded, custom gamemode settings get reverted to default Slayer, yada-yada-yada. Point is, the Halo 5 experience could be a lot better than it currently is.
With that in mind, would an update that is solid with fixes and optimization make you happy, or would you like a semi-regular dose of content?
I think I made a thread about something like this in the past. It never gained much traction, but I’m glad that the topic resurfaced.
I think that if 343i fixed some of the major problems with the game rather than delivering new content, it may end up a positive change. Making the currently available content more playable may be better than just bringing in new content that may end up becoming unplayable.
Under-the-hood and balancing fixes are desperately needed, and I’d support an update that fixes everything we need fixed right now.
-Fixed matchmaking disparity bugs
-Adjusted team balancing
-Minor tweaks to Join In Progress perameters.
-Fixed wall breach exploits.
-Adjusted damage to weapons X/Y/Z.
-Tweaked Firefight encounters.
-Fixed a bug where there weren’t enough shades of blue in visors selection, added 14 more.
-Minor text fixes.

I personally would not care because there are alot of bug fixes the game needs. But to be fair this game is heavily dependent on new content updates. They built this game around the fact that each update would give them short term boosts of players. I think this game needs a massive bug fix. But for the players who depend on new content every update (there are alot of them) then there will be a risk of losing those players, and during this time of year when so many other games are coming out, Halo 5 really needs it’s player base and needs to continue to be relevant and fresh in terms of content. Unfortunately this is what happens when you build a game based around mandatory content updates.

-Fixed an issue where grunt mech battlecries weren’t being heard from all areas of the map.
Added new Scout variants for the UNSC wasp.
-Fixed a bug where Spartan Charge followed by a kill with an automatic weapon was not correctly awarding the ‘noob combo’ medal.
-New Gametype: Oddball. added to the Breakout playlist.

hey lets not forget an actual 1
*adds update that makes SC + speed boost = insta kill
*Next update removes update that makes S + speed boost = insta kill
Random Freezes - Soldier model not showing a melee animation and smacking anyone around it - Carnage reports from previous games not showing - jackal snipers having no overheating for their beam rifles - Mythic/Legendary bosses getting stuck outside of the map in FF - Mantis having an eject type of glitch where if you get hijacked and you hold X sometimes you can escape - Certain Scorpion variants surviving grenade plants (not sure if this is a feature or a bug) - Most ai having the ability to rapid fire when not using a rapid fire weapon - Oathsworth being less powerful then the Blaze of Glory - Spartan charge and Energy Sword lunge physics - Vehicle Physics…
This game needs a lot of bug fixes so I would totally be ok with this, if just for one update they didn’t bother clogging up the req pool more and concentrated on things that really need fixing, like a totally new and improved UI would be very welcome, theater desperately needs fixing, WZFF desperately needs fixing, there’s still a lot of problems in the game here and there, but those are are the ones that bother me the most, theater has been broken since day 1 which is ALMOST A YEAR AGO! Come on 343I really? Surely something like that should have been on the priority list of things to fix, on top of adding new content at least, and WZFF was released broken even after having a beta with many people posting their feedback.

That’s lag/latency buddy, nothing they can do to fix that…
