Guys i’ve figured out who the leader of the promethans is. I recently read the book Halo:Cryptum, (it’s a really good read) and there is a very old and wise promethean leader known as the Didact. The prometheans are the highest ranked of the warrior-servants, the warriors of the Forerunners. The Didact is married to the librarian, a legendary lifeworker, who catalogues, experiments on and generally works with all manner of life, (think of a mix between a zoo keeper and a biologist).
*In the terminal videos from Halo CEA, guilty spark mentions the Didact, and at this point, the symbol of the promethean boss from Halo 4 shown in the trailer is shown. Also, in one of the later terminal videos, he says that he would love to have a company of Prometheans with him to get rid of the humans destroying Halo, but if he did, then “HE” would have to be there, and he went on to mention the Librarian not being there to calm “HIS” rage.
Also, as a side note, the Didact fought and decimated the humans in an ancient war 10,000 years before the Halo’s fired, and his life was tormented afterwards by feeling of guilt and at the same time a grudge against humans.
*343 did confirm that the terminals would hint at Halo 4’s story.
**All this information is from a book written by a guy from 343, so it’s totally legit.
We already knew it was the Didact, sorry.
Really? damn. It took me ages to figure that all out

Don’t worry. It was identified as the Didact since the 2012 E3 trailer with the symbol, then confirmed because of a image in the first Vidoc where it actually appears in the script.
Yeah you’re late to that party pal.
Lesson #1 on these forums: if something new comes out, you have about 30 seconds before it is known in this community. Chances of actually showing us something new are really small.
Welcome to these forums by the way.
To be fair it’s my first time on this website, i thought i’d come here to post my discovery, it seemed quite obscure. Is it a well known thing? cos i haven’t heard of this anywhere else.
[_] <- This, is the f*ck box, none was given.
Polite answer: Literally everyone knows this.

Yup, almost everybody “knows”. As in: we know Didact is involved and isn’t happy. But the details as to why he’s our enemy and if he stays that way are just speculative at the point.
I suggest you take a look in the Universe forums to read up on the Didact.
No, it’s not. Sorry to burst your bubble but it’s not. Thursday War came out today so we may get a hint of who the boss may be or is thought to be.

Thursday pretty much confirms it’s the Didact. But even if it didn’t, Frankie already confirmed it on Spike TV anyway.
Wow. A little late this one is.
You guys need to chill on the poor OP. He thought he was sharing something, and he made a well constructed first post.
However, yes, we have known for quite some time that we will have to deal with the Didact at some point in the story. We just don’t really know WHY yet. Hopefully some new information will come in the upcoming novel “Silentium”.
Perhaps Didact was friends with a Human, and they were total Bros, but then the Librarian drank too much at the bar and went home with the Human, thus -Yoink!- off the Didact.
