Ideas to improve Melee weapons (Energy sword and Gravity hammers) in the TU.

First, I would like 343 to bring back parrying as it was in Halo 3, because with the current system after two or three parries both players die, and that is just stupid.

Second, Make the Sword and Hammer parryiable, so that way we can have epic hammer vs sword battles.

Third, Make the Gravity hammer RT swing a bit slower because I think its a bit too fast.

If anybody likes or dislikes this ideas let your opinion be heard.

I agree! I’m an avid sword user (No camping) and I loved the way the sword worked in Halo 3. Bring back parrying, and make the melee (LB) swing faster than the lunge, like it was in Halo 3.

ahh improve. i thought you meant ‘BUFF’ which is NOT what we need. i liked your ideas.

i do think you should be able to parry a sword (not hammer, so you can use either depending on what your gametype / map needs) with your fist.

might not make much sense from a canon standpoint, but from a gameplay standpoint it makes a lot of sense.

unless you believe random mediocre kids should be able to pick up a sword then instantly get 10 kills by camping random sporadic corners with infinite success for relatively no skill requirement.

it should be VERY HARD to block the sword with your fist, but it should be CONSISTENT if you do it flawlessly.

this would also increase the skill gap with using the sword (its no longer HOLD FORWARD + R = WINLIFE, its 'where can i attack from to get the jump on this guy fast enough that he cant parry me if hes good).

it also increases the skill gap for people parrying the sword.

it also adds depth to the game.

AND! it gives people a chance to defend themselves against the people who wait around corners with the sword for minutes on end for someone to turn the corner.

Sorry URZA, but I hate Sword Block. No-way in hell do I want that to return.
Thinks about Sword Block+Armor Lock block+Armor Lock block+Sword Block+shot to the head battle from a month ago

Awful mechanic. Just shorten the lunge range. And if they do have Sword Block in Halo 4(God help me), you should lose the weapon you blocked with, because it should be sliced in half.

Actually im against sword block, but I would like it to parry the hammer and another sword because it makes sense, but with melee, its not a very good idea because it nullifies the weapons purposes.
