Ideas for new Elite based weps. and vehicles

Since the majority of the Elites (led by the Arbiter) split from the covenant I will treat them as separate group with unique weapons, that honor the Elite tradition and technology.

Energy Swords (Duel Wielding)

  • Energy Swords can be duel wielded.
  • Energy Swords can only be duel wielded with another energy sword
  • Duel wielding energy swords have the 2nd longest melee rang, than any other melee ranged weapon (Brute Lancer has the longest range) and they have the 2nd fastest recovery melee time.
  • A duel wield energy sword is the only melee weapon that has a 2 hit lunge combo, that extends range and is generally a 1 hit kill, if hit with both blades.
  • This 2 hit combo is done by double tapping the (RT) when locked on an opponent.
  • In Griff Ball players using the duel wielding energy sword class are known as guardians.
  • If a player is duel wielding and holds (LT) this will cause the user to raise his left hand with the sword to guard his head with the blade. This makes it a little harder to headshot the opponent from certain angles. It also will better deflect some damage delivered from the left side so long as the player is holding (LT).
  • A good marksman can shoot in between the space of the blades to deliver a headshot as the sword will not completely cover the head.
  • Players can still strike using the sword in the other hand while holding the LT guard, by hitting (RT)
  • If an opposing player melees you with a sword or any other weapon and you hit the LT trigger right at the moment of contact you will block the melee (Taking no damage to health or shields). If this is followed by an immediate pulling of the RT you will impale your opponent with your other blade.
  • Damage absorbed by the sword when holding LT will deplete the power source of the sword quicker.
  • If your parrying a person using single wielded sword, if you immediately hit the RT trigger after the 1st parry you will initiate a 2nd blow (the 2nd part of the 2 hit combo) that will more than likely kill your opponent.

Seize Fire (Elite)

  • This is a gun/energy dagger hybrid weapon used by elites. (The dagger part appears as half of the plasma sword, attached to a slightly longer barreled, yellow colored plasma pistol. It has a gold blade instead of a blue)
  • ( The elites consider hand to hand combat to be the most pure and most honorable form of combat, this weapon is to encourage that engagement)
  • The gun portion operates like a plasma overcharge. The only difference is that the bolt only fires (similar to the laser when it reaches max charge) when it reaches overcharge capacity. However, unlike the laser the bolt reaches max charge in the same amount of time a plasma pistol reaches overcharge status. (To fire the overcharge hold the LT as the RT utilizes the melee of the energy blade)
  • When the blast is fired it shoots out a yellow orb that if it hits an opponent it disables the weapon from firing for 5 seconds. The opponent then has to utilize hand to hand combat if need be, or resort to a melee based weapon such as a sword or hammer. (The cool down rate for this weapon is the same of that after firing an overcharged plasma pistol)
  • If the overcharge is used on a vehicle the vehicle will continue running but the weapon systems will be inactivated for 5 seconds.
  • Pressing (RT) and (B) utilize the melee as seen with the sword.
  • The energy dagger is almost an instant melee kill if used. If an opponent has shields fully charged and is struck it will drop their shields entirely and bring them into one inch of their life.
  • If they have shields at 75% strength or lower it will kill them in 1 hit.
  • Of the melee based weapons (Sword, Mace, Lancer, Hammer) The dagger has the shortest range, of the melee only weapons but it has the fastest melee recovery time.

Vehicles

Locust (Elite)

  • Seen in Halo Wars
  • Is basically the Human Mantis equivalent.
  • It has one cannon that shoots out a laser (The reticule and laser width is the size of the Spartan laser, it shoots a laser like that of a Focus rifle where the user holds the trigger to continue firing the beam until the gun over heats. )
  • The damage is the essentially a stronger version of the focus rifle, but the width of the laser matches that of a Spartan Laser
  • It overheats at a slightly faster rate than the mounted machine gun
  • You can’t zoom with this weapon
  • The vehicle is a 1 manned unit
  • Its speed and turning is the same as that of a Mantis
  • It can “climb” over and onto larger Objects
  • Can’t scale vertical walls
  • It also has a stomp feature (like that of the mantis)
  • It can crawl onto a tank or other vehicle and stomp on it (B)
  • 1 direct contact stomp destroys mongoose, infantry, and Ghosts
  • 2 direct stomps destroy warthogs and Revenants
  • 3 direct stomps destroy Warthog and Tanks
  • 6 stomps to destroy a mammoth.

> DIDN'T READ LOL - YouTube

Haha this…

And OP… No… no… no… Firstly if your trying to add new weapons make it a tonne easier to read. And secondly this idea could be implemented by simply adding the the existing content in… they are still a Covenant faction.

Covenant ‘Arbiter’s Forces’ Remnant

  • Plasma Repeater (Primary)

  • Plasma Rifle (Secondary)

  • Needle Rifle (Precision)

  • Plasma Launcher (Anti-Vehicle)

  • Focus Rifle (Anti-Infrantry)

  • Energy Sword (Melee)

  • Energy Stave (Melee)

  • Energy Dagger (Melee)

  • Plasma Grenade (Grenade)

  • Ghost (Light)

  • Spectre (Medium)

  • Banshee (Aerial)

  • Locust (Heavy)

Covenant ‘Storm’ Remnant

  • Storm Rifle (Primary

  • Plasma Pistol (Secondary)

  • Covenant Carbine (Precision)

  • Fuel Rod Cannon (Anti-Vehicle)

  • Beam Rifle (Anti-Infrantry)

  • Needler (Munitions)

  • Concussion Rifle (Suppression)

  • Energy Sword (Melee)

  • Gravity Hammer (Melee)

  • Plasma Grenade (Grenade)

  • Ghost (Light)

  • Revenant (Medium)

  • Wraith (Heavy)

  • Banshee (Aerial)

I’m pretty sure being the head of the covenenant’s military hierarchy for 1000’s of years resulted in the covenant’s weaponry already suiting elite tastes. The needler itself uses crystals from one of their moons, and the storm rifle is produced by one of their existing armories.

That said, the Locust should definitely appear in the FPS’s at some point.

> Energy swords can be duel wielded but only with other energy swords. They have a longer range [due to being able to lunge twice(?)] than most melee weapons. Holding left trigger will allow you to partially block with one of the swords, but the space between the two prongs can still be shot through. This function can also be used to parry melee attacks, allowing you to instantly counter-attack with your right handed sword.

> The Seize Fire is a special plasma pistol used by the elites with significant aesthetic and mechanical differences. Right Trigger melees with the attached energy bayonet. This melee will kill all but full health targets in a single hit. Left Trigger charges and fires a bolt of energy that temporarily disables enemy weapons, forcing them to result to melee. This effects vehicle weapons as well. [This weapon has the fastest melee speed(?)].

It overheats at a slightly faster rate than the mounted machine gun and has no zoom. The vehicle only seats one person. Its speed and turning is the same as that of a Mantis, but with the ability to scale obstacles and objects (such as other vehicles). It can also destroy vehicles it crawls on.

Actual opinions to come later, as it’s really late. Though I can already tell I’m not going to like the Seize Fire due to its weapon disabling mechanic among other things.
