Had some spare time so I thought i’d make one of my first posts on the forum about some idea’s for Halo 6. I’m going to avoid talking about gameplay mechanics such as Sprint and Smart Scope as this has been done by countless others before. I’m interested in any feedback too and thank you for taking the time to read my post

- Revamp the REQ packs
The REQ packs are an interesting idea that I believe with a few tweaks, could be improved upon to potentially open up Halo 6 to further features. In its current form, REQ packs are the only way to get customisation options for your Spartan and are completely random in addition to the usual REQ’s you can get for Warzone. I think in order to improve the REQ packs, 343 could make remove the Armour customisation (more on that later) and focus either strictly on REQ’s for Warzone and have an additional type of REQ pack that is similar to CSGO’s weapon cases.
The dedicated REQ’s REQ pack would function nearly identical to how it does in Halo 5 whilst the Weapon skin REQ packs would be similar to the Weapon cases in CSGO. The weapon case system could keep the rarity tiers such as Legendary and Mythic however unlike CSGO where you can sell skins for real money, which Microsoft probably wouldn’t allow and I would say is a bad idea for the younger Halo audience, the duplicate skins can be sold for REQ points like in Halo 5. This should help to remove the gambling aspect of Weapon skins and also serve to help ensure that rare skins are indeed rare, rather than just unlocking everything.
- Spartan Companies
To my knowledge, Spartan Companies currently do not have much practicality and no real use in gameplay. Back in Halo 2, we had a specific Clan match playlist. I think Halo 6 should bring back a specific, 4vs4 Arena ranked Clan playlist, with the ranks being tied to your clan specifically. Perhaps a ranked Warzone Clan playlist could be an option as well for larger Spartan companies? The ranking system will be based on the 1-50 system or 343’s current naming for the ranks with the difference being rather than losing your rank every month, you keep it so long as you keep playing. Given the push Microsoft and 343 have had for competetive Halo and it’s MLG history, i think this could help encourage replayability. If your team is inactive in a playlist for a month, it resets. Which brings me to…
- Ranking system
As mentioned above, the system will be either the 1-50 or 343’s current rank variants. Ranks are kept for playlists although similar to CSGO, if you are inactive in a playlist for a month, you lose the rank. This encourages replayability, creates a drive to maintain your rank rather than knowing it will just reset at the end of the month.
- Weapon skins and potential Warzone drops
As mentioned, Weapon Skins could be unlocked from Weapon cases with REQ points. Duplicates are sold like in Halo 5 for REQ points with rarer weapons granting more REQ points, meaning Mythic weapons are truly Mythic and not just unlocked because of grinding and unlocking everything. More expensive Weapon cases e.g Gold weapon case 10,000 RP increase the chance for a rarer weapon drop but no guarantee. Perhaps 343 could introduce a public event in the middle of a Warzone match, which grants all players in the game a chance for a rare weapon skin of Legendary status such as a Mythic Warden. It could create an interesting scenario where both teams work together for their mutual gain, then resume the match with their Legendary+ tier unlock. The idea would be this happens perhaps once every two weeks on a specific day and can be completely random e.g not every single Warzone match that day. This creates replayability and the chance to get a guaranteed Legendary+ weapon skin, which 343 could announce when you start Halo 6.
- Online Story mission crossover
Given Halo 5’s direction with two teams of Spartans in the campaign, I think Halo 6 could potentially have two separate campaigns (if 343 repeat this for Halo 6) where some missions feature crosover from other players. For example, imagine you are playing Assault on the Control Room in Halo CE except a Halo 6 equivalent. You have just got the Tank and get drive out of the cave into the big open area with dropships, Ghosts, Prometheans and you need to get to the other side in Chief’s campaign. A similar mission, perhaps with a different objective but features that area briefly in Osiris’s campaign, could see players who are entering that area in either Chief’s or Osiris campaign, connect with the other and potentially assist each other in clearing the area of the Prometheans, Warden Eternals. Think Destiny Patrols and how players can connect to you regardless of the story mission when they enter the area but only for a handful of area’s like the aforementioned scenario. It could play to Halo’s strengths and sandbox similar to a Warzone scenario within campaign whilst also helping to keep the separate campaigns joint. Obviously no friendly fire ;). This brings me to my last idea…
- Use your own Spartan
We get all of these customisation options but only for MP. We keep being told how great the Chief is. As Noble 6, we also knew how great we were. Let us use our Spartan in the Osiris campaign. Let us help the Chief or fight alongside him. Perhaps 10 missions as the Chief and 5-6 as Osiris as our Spartan? It could help make Chief seem like a better character and give our Spartan and customisation options more relevance.
So these are just a few of my idea’s. Admittedly some may work better than others but i’m interested to see people’s idea’s. I sort of rushed this post due to battery life but if you took the time to read this, thank you and I look forward to your comments
