While the game is still yet to be released, and we already have a wide selection of maps that are going to make the game fun for many months to come, its never too soon to talk about the future. So I think to myself, what kind of maps does the community need/want in its future expansions to make the game seem all the more playable. If Halo 3 taught me anything, is that adaptive variety is the spice of life that made it so fun to keep coming back to, hence why multiplayer constantly changed. All the maps in Halo 3, while some were similar to elements of campaign, had their own unique and inseparable qualities of certain campaign missions. Foundry had elements taken from the campaign mission, ‘Floodgate’ all over it, and Rat’s Nest looked all too similar to the color and ambiance that Crow’s nest.
That aside, its also smart to look at forge world maps too. For example, a plain, flat open space like Flatgrass from GMOD would be simple, but perfect for even the simplest forging experiments. Like adding small forgeable hills and slopes and all sorts of debris that can be scattered about. Plus, its wide and open for all manner of vehicles to be used. Even the addition of multiple skyboxes on such a map could set the mood for any kind of atmosphere. Want a dark starry night with low light, how about a cloudy dusk sky? Even the clear blue sky could be an option. The possibilities are endless.
The main question is, what kind of maps would YOU like to see?
Densely forested maps with lots of shrubbery that utilizes the game’s skin system for camo-stealth combat. Beacuse the gamestop POP commercial inspired me.
If the new BTB gametype and capture the flag gametype flop, then I think they need to go a little smaller. I know a lot of people already feel this way, but some maps like guardian or the pit from H3 would be perfect.
Their DLC would need to go small, small/medium, and large.
If the new BTB gametype and capture the flag gametype works, then they need to go in the range of more large maps, yet still retain a small one. I hate to say it, but if these gametypes work great, then there might be a new definition to “skill” in H4.

new forge environments new forge environments new forge environments new forge environments new forge environments new forge environments new forge environments.
also some more 4v4 sized maps, too many 8v8 maps at launch IMO
That magma area that we saw in the spartan ops mission would be the perfect mold to make a map out of. But I will chalk that up with the desert, snowcapped areas, and forest settings that we could use to have maps.
I would enjoy another Forge map in a map pack. I would also like to see maps that have interact-able environments like Halo 2 had with Zanzibar and Waterworks. They were little advantages that you could gain, and it made them game more fun.
Yeah, I would like a forest with forgable tree models. They proved they could do it in the anniversary map pack. I really want to bring back the Predator game type from Halo 3.

Yeah, And I have played some of my best games there. Such good visual diversity, but I mostly want a forest because Halo maps always tend to feel slightly empty. (In h4 the emptiness is nowhere as bad as previous games)
I would like to see maps, which try different kinds of visual effects like rain, snow and dark enviroments. Plus variation with the locations. One map would be in a mountain ridge at night, another would be located in ruins of USIF structure, which is invaded by Flood and so on.
New things to use in Forge would be cool too, even a completely new map for that mode.
I would like it if each map pack contained one remake that can’t be easily forged, one new original map that can’t be easily forged, and one new forge map that has elements and environments that the others don’t have. I would love it if we got a covenant map or possibly a covenant forge world because we don’t have a covenant map in Halo 4. I would also like it if the dlc forge maps have one accurate remake made from forge pieces, new forge pieces that would assist the build of classic maps like they did with lockout pieces, and one new original default.
> I’d like a map with some room to maneuver tanks like Sandtrap or Containment. All the large maps shown seem a little tight for a Scorpion.
On top of this players can spawn with plasma grenades, pulse grenades, and plasma pistol the vehicles seem drastically less of a threat now. :’(
I would rather have Containment over Sandtrap any day unless they made the sky, sand, and buildings have a stronger variety of color instead of just yellowish tan.
