ideas for forge 3.0 (post your ideas here instead of makeing indavidual threads)

i figured lets make a colllection of all the ideas instead of several topics about the same thing so here are my starting ideas.

#1 the current halo forge world i think should be the current one but expanded to include more areas. like the hanger area should lead to a bunch of tunnels inside halo, and i think the tower should be added to the whole area with some levels inside of it.

#2 switches i think should be added, remember the switch in CE for the bridge? we could add switches like that for halo that would activate bridges, as well as open doors or turn off force fields.

#3 keycards have been sugested, i think this would be a good idea for a forge world like fondery in halo 3 where it can be used to open a door, switches like the ones in reach campaign would also be included in a foundry like forge world.

#4 also pelicans and phantoms should be brought to forge world, it is great for machinima and right now the falcon without seats is no good for transporting people. now some things that would be nice are civilian vehicals, and the ability to toggle on or off the passenger seats on the falcon and pelican. NOTE: people carrying the objective would not be able to get in and of the transport vehicals without droping the objective

#5 more weather effects avalibal like rain and snow, as well as a day and night toggle button

#6 more options with shapes like chosing the size of the shap as well as the shade of color for the object, in addition to

#7 the ability to toggle on or off once you put down one item for another one to appear for you to put down instead of haveing to select it again

#8 ability to edit the terrain in forge world using tools, and not just edit, also createing worlds from scratch would be included in this. the ability to make underground/underwater tunnels as well.

#9 original creator tags on a forge map to prevent stealing in the community.
feel free to make suggestions and i will add them to the list

How about a bit of thought when it comes to the forge world area? a few big open spaces wouldnt go amiss, how about a big propper beach for all the people that like making D day maps, I would love a city area and maybe some snow, desert ect you get the idea!

I would really like a simple selection of basic shapes where you get to pick the size of the shape and then the texture and colour of the item. hopefully a few differnt textures and colours to pick from :smiley:

Instead of the current item limits and the budget, how about something based on the ammount of lag ect a object causes, and how much it affects game performance.

Pelican, Civillian vehicles, all the 'hog variants ect :smiley:

Yes, I just posted that.

Weathers:
Rain (Set between shower or heavy storm)
Snow (snowfall or blizzard)
Daytime (Noon Day Night Dawn Dusk etc)
Fog or Mist

More sceneries more more more halo3 had more than reach:(
In-game soundtrack would sound better than a quiet sleepy game, it motivates.
To scale structures makes our building ugly.
Make samething to keep structures in proportion not as precise.

I would like to make a map completely from scratch, like Far Cry 2, alot of people have been asking for it. Terrain editor, weather and daytime effects, everything, except with Halo. Also a model editor would be nice, constructing your own building, adding AI into the scene, even scarabs. I also like the undo idea and with the original tools from Forge 2.0 like Normal, Phased, and Fixed. A large set of miltary vehicles and civilian vehicles. I want his because the bad thing about Forge today is the limit of creativity. I know its asking alot, but if this came true, it would make Halo better than it is and attract even more attention.

Far Cry 2 was amazing for its editor, I had so much fun on that game. I would love for something like that to be added into the next Halo game.

yea, I jsut hope 343 Industries sees this and uses the idea. This is a great topic.

That would be cool but For Reach no because microsoft has only 8GB per game disc. so i would wait until 343i Makes its own Game. Reach is not the best halo for machinimas wise but they would have to release a whole new game.

A terrain editor would be sick

I would like to see that you could use outfits, like option for infection, instead of color having flood models.
And different themes for objectives, like: Door (forerunner, UNSC, Covenant or flood style.)
Also more cool vehicles: like [(NameBright - Coming Soon)]Banshee Interceptor]( [NameBright - Coming Soon)
And Seraphs.

Exclusion Zone - A way to make tunnels into the terrian or take of parts of buildings or other objects to add more flexibility to each object

Grouping - When you have built a building you can keep it together so you don’t separate it

Locking - To lock a object so it doesn’t accidently move something but have to manually change it on and off

Undo - To undo something you did if you don’t like it

An ability to create realistic underground area’s. Like leadings to land to underground, so not only underground based areas.

graah i don’t think the X360 can handle this…
Instead of an Map Editor(Forge)i would definitely prefer some kind of “World Creator” where you can build your own maps/elevation from scratch :stuck_out_tongue:

But these are the features i would want:
1: A copy-paste function along with other helpful tools, like an “undo” button…
2: Being able to change textures/colours of objects.
3: Real night and weather effects.
4: Smoother way of forging objects together, don’t know how to desribe this…but forging peaces together should be more simple instead of doing it manually.
5: The option to modify the angle and size of objects.

No I’ll stick to making threads, thank you.

Or at your weapon like shotgun, pistol, DMR ,etc.

& Laser pointer attachmen****t for some weapons (more than just Spartan Laser or Target Locator), not necessary but would be fun. Also option to turn on/off the pointer (not for weapons what already has it for reasons).

All these ideas are excellent, but some of them are very much also tying into the game mechanics then the actual forge it self. :slight_smile:
