Do you have ideas for an new Halo spin of like Halo Reach or ODST.
My ideas are:
- Bloody Years a Halo game on Sangelios you Play an elite or the arbiter and you fight agains Juls Covenant-
- The Forrunner-Flood war a Halo game you Play an Promethean and you have to fight against the flood
Gunna be a grammar -Yoink!- here and say that it’s spin-off as in coming off the main series.
OT: I could see demand for both of these games as smaller a cheaper fill in titles for those that really care about the story. Maybe the SoS one would work better as a book but the forerunner history really needs to be told in the games through some proper form, and I believe an ODST sized spin-off title would fit neatly into that area.
As a variant on your second idea, what if you play as one of the ancient humans, so your enemies include both the Flood and Forerunners?
I would also like a turn-based strategy game set in space where you control various warships from the varying factions as a computer/console game. This is an idea they could outsource to a developer who specializes in this type of gameplay, like they did with Halo Wars and Halo Fleet Battles.
It would also be interesting to have an open-world RPG (like the Fallout games) where you’re a crewman on a crashed ship on a non-Halo Forerunner installation (such as a Shield World like the one in Halo Wars), where you can trade with, combat, or do quests for various factions from other crashed ships, all while battling the planet’s wildlife and defensive constructs. This likewise could be outsourced to another developer.
Here’s an idea:
Halo: Survival Evolved (get it? because ARK???) Well anyhow.
This is kinda like Spartan Ops… It’s kinda there for your enjoyment, but optional. It could come with H6 or come out on H5 if ske7ch sees this.
CAMPAIGN:
Basic story:
Attempting a raid on a Covenant compound on some secret undisclosed planet, that’s a very covenant planet, your landing goes poorly and you escape to the drop-pods. Everyone escapes and lives. Communications are fine. But not recommended as Covenant forces might listen in. So you have the objective, to rendezvous at the crashsite, kill anything that you find in your way, and then use the salvageable radar jammer on the ship to allow communications over comms.
You have to find the covenant compound, mess it up, and send a signal for evac.
Which is multiplayer-compatible because everyone has to find something to bring to the party.
MULTIPLAYER:
That would make this a full spin-off.
Everyone has to explore a map (pretty darn big too) and gain weapons, armor abilities (not armor lock) and use those resources (even vehicles) to kill enemy spartans. Team of 3. Don’t mess up, you die, you out fam.
Kind of like H5s’ battle royale. But not battle royale. But it is battle royale.
And
ESCALATION:
5 waves of increasingly difficult Covey forces. Fight them off.
And you’ll have points.
Elites are 10, Jackels 5, Grunts 1, Drones/Skirmishers, 2.
You buy power weapons and vehicles to fend them off.
You don’t regen health, that has to be bought.
If you die, you’ll respawn next round.
Campaign revive system, of course.
A new weapon, the regen-beam, shoots out a beam of health. Can be used to help KOd Spartans to revive them from a distance.
You buy new areas with your points. Like your weapons and vehicles.
Kind of like the finale of Blue Team in H5s’ campaign. Your evac has to charge up.
And the amount of rounds can be voted on. 4 players. If you’re in a fireteam party.
Otherwise, you’ll go from either 5 to 10 rounds.
25, 50, 75 100 percent. Then a final cutscene.
And rewards.
A JRPG style game based in the Warzone simulations where you start off as a squad of Marines/ODSTs and work your way through Spartan IV augmentations and training. With Jun and maybe some SIIs kicking around plus Lasky/Palmer to guide and instruct you, even mentor you. You select different trainers and learn their specific attributes.
The simulations could even take old events from the novels and have you recreate them for training purposes, similar to those handheld Spartan games.
I was thinking a flood horror like game.
Here is my Idea (although they locked it due to the length of time that I had posted this)
Halo: Legacy
I’m still working on it, mostly putting pen to paper for now.
the timeline is in this is during the four years leading up to H:4+
Idea 2 is pretty cool. Maybe we will finally get some forerunner ground vehicles.
Honestly I know most other folks are probably ready to move on with newer and different things but the one I’d be most excited about would be an entire game starring Blue Team in flashback missions from the Covenant War. I just can’t enough of those stories. I’d pay just about any amount of money for that if it were done well and were a very LONG and replayable campaign.
A close second would be a Mona Lisa-style Flood survival horror game.
